Our biggest ever game?

One thing though. I think it's unfortunate that you're not embracing the spirit of what people are saying when they talk about this being our biggest game.
I know exactly what they mean and, if you regard the CL as being the pinnacle of a European club's achievement, they're correct on that level. I'm not disputing that.

But if we lose tonight then we've lost or are risking losing nothing are we? We'd still have done better than we've ever done previously in this competition. To me, a "big" game is one where something crucial is at stake.

Biggest game ever - hopefully, by the very nature of moving onwards and upwards, our biggest game ever is still to come. You could argue the 1892 Manchester Cup was the biggest - without that we'd have never been considered worthy of a League place. 1904 FAC final - cemented City as Manchester's club and established Manchester as a footy city. I could go on, but I'm hoping our biggest game ever comes in May this year, but even then in terms of significance how can you compare it to the games that brought our survival, or first successes? All subjective. In historic terms, it'll only be viewed as one of our biggest games if we win it. We'll never remember those biggest games that ended in failure.

I suppose the correct way to look at it is to look towards the future and not back and as you say, our biggest games are all to come.

We'll know how big it is when we know the other 3 SF teams.
Barca, Real and Bayern is a meh, Wolfsburg, Benfica and Atletico makes it huge.

Same here.
Was much more nervous before the 2012 derby and the 2014 red dipper game when we thought the winner would go on to win the title.
This. It will feel like a missed opportunity but we will pick ourselves up and try to go further next year. It's not like any of us expect to go on and win it!

Now that City are in the European Cup semi final I think we can all agree that tonight's game was the biggest in the club's history - so far

Yeh the only people who need to give it a rest are the people pretending it was better in the old days, City have achieved a new status tonight... Rio and McManaman are going to have nightmares tonight they are reeling from this MASSIVE blow we've delt to their over inflated self worth due to the raggy/dipper pride they have.

This is new, you haven't seen this before, so stop pretending you have or you're somehow more important than the "16 year old's" who just witnessed it with you. Historic night for the club don't downplay it, leave that to BT/BBC and enjoy it. :)
