our charity shield attendance...

This thread is embarrassing.

It wasn't a meaningless friendly as some are claiming. It was the rags at Wembley with a shiny thing to lift at the end.

But at the same time its completely understandable why some didnt go considering the huge cost and with the season proper starting next week. Some getting flak on here will be shelling out ridiculous sums of money to travel abroad and representing us in Europe whilst others who are dishing out the pious bullshit are at home in slippers watching the game on the box.

Let's stop with all this 'I'm a bigger blue than you' nonsense. We're blues. Thats all that matters. Those odious cockney cnuts are the enemy yet we're squabbling amongst ourselves over a couple of thousand empty seats.

I find it very strange that as fans we are attacking one another, based on how true a blue you supposeadly are !
You are a shit house if you didn`t go and the best supporter if you did go.
For fucks sake we always take the piss out of the Rag bastards when they don`t get a full house and look at us now, slagging one another off,for NO apparent logical reason.
I fucking despair at some of our so called fans.

-- Mon Aug 08, 2011 10:34 am --

You`ve just beaten me to it Toma, but oh so true.

If anything, yesterday proved two of things to me. And a few of them actually make me happy.

First - winning trophies or not, we're never gonna have a load of band wagon jumpers.

Second - as much as cunts like Scott of Repulik of Mancunia would like to try and convince and brain wash his red masses, City still are the Mancunian club. There is no way there were 28,000 Mancunian United fans in their end yesterday, and they'd probably be lucky to have the 17,000 blue Mancs that we had there yesterday. Manchester is a working class city, and we have working class fans. They'll probably laugh and say "Oh but you all live in Stockport" - well you play in Trafford and Stockport is a lot closer to Manchester than Uxbridge/Weymouth/Dover and any other coaches I saw yesterday.

I know plenty of blues who go week in week out who didn't go yesterday, and it doesn't make them less City fans.

If we didn't have Champions League football to look forward to next season, do you think there would be as many empty seats?

THOUSANDS of season ticket holders couldn't get a ticket for the final, yet we didn't sell out yesterday - maybe that shows the importance of the game?!

I went yesterday, but I'm not gonna knock anyone that didn't.

I didn't go. Watched it on the box with the missus and my 8 week old girl. I don't consider myself a bigger or smaller blue than anyone else just a City supporter.

Bang On Toma, Can I ask did you go abroad with City last year

I fear our support next season at away games will be poor.Reason being the prices clubs are charging.QPR charging £55,Spurs £53 etc.No way will I be paying those kind of prices. What happened to the story doing the rounds a while back where every away fan would be charged £15? At those prices, more fans would go.

Whats the point of all this bickering. I'm a season ticket holder am 39 years old. I did'nt go yesterday as a matter of fact I didn't even watch the game. Preffered to have a day out with my wife and childern, does that question how big a fan I am.

It's £57 for Bolton at QPR this Saturday. It'll be at least £62 for us when we go! Add in at least £30 coach journey, plus spending money for the day (I'd say I spend £80 when I go to away games on average) and you're talking almost £175 for one game. Now I reckon QPR is the best away trip in London, so it might even be worth going down and getting a hotel for the night down there. But I also wouldn't hesitate supporting a boycott because it's getting daft in England. I reckon you could get flights, accomodation and match tickets to a Shalke away BundesLige game for cheaper than you could some Prem away games with City these days!

Calm down kid.

Some blues have a greater desire to be at a match and support the team than others. Some blues will sacrifice something to afford to go to matches.

Does this make them bigger blues than people that don't go? In a word yes.
Half the fans there yesterday are fans who couldn't get tickets for the semi or final last season.

So are they bigger blues than those who didn't go? 50% yes, 50% no

As a 61 year old you seem to have a very immature way of thinking

Listen, if you wanted to be at the semi or the final you could have got in. I've never had a problem getting a ticket for a match I wanted to attend. Its the lengths you go through that determine if you get in or not
Well seems though we are dick measuring, I got offered a superbia ticket.

Massive blue me.

Still think your about 12 with your views
