3 clean sheets in a row , is it that our new defensive tactics are better than the old ones or are we seeing new manager syndrome where the players are putting in that bit more effort because they want to impress the new guy?

I've never seen us as solid as this before. The central pair had a very impressive game.We look more organised and our marking has markedly improved.

We dont seem to have about 2 miles between defenders we used to. Also wether 1st team or todays team, we are winning alot more headers. Simple things also like men on the post you would take for granted but wasnt done before.

People will counter this by saying we kept a series of clean sheets right at the start of the season under MH. The difference is, these clean sheets are a tad more convincing. Less flapping now and that's without Lescott, Toure (today) and Bridge.

I think they are a lot more disciplined now and less prone to chase the ball around the penalty area and ignoring the opposition. I also think Kompany has added a bit of height we didn't have before.

Hughes was repeatedly told about this when we were struggling.

TBF none of our defenders are bad. I think most of the problems were organisational and lacking discipline. Still think we have problems at both full back positions though.

The team, never mind Defence are now better organised, properly set up, properly coached during the week, they now know what is expected of them as a TEAM. Nothing to do with opposition, we have been using a makeshift efence.

Put simple the team is now

ORGANISED
