A great deal has been made about City's youth policy and it has certainly been successful. However, when you look at the end product I have to express a little disappointment.

Richards, Onuoha, Ireland, Michael Johnson, Shaleum Logan, Kelvin Etuhu and SWP have all shown great potential...some more than others. I know that some have played for their countries which is a great achievement in itself but I dont feel that anyone has really developed into a top, top player. In some cases they have actually gone backwards.

The one that has really disappointed me this season is Ireland as last year I think we all thought he had made that step up to become a top class player....I really hope he can still do it.

The big new prospect is Weiss and I hope he can develop into the star that we are all waiting for......we shall see.

After watching our reserve team recently nearly all of our latest best prospects seem to be attacking players...

- Nimley
- Guidetti
- Ball
- Mak
- Weiss (on loan)

The exception being...

- Boyata

No one else has really stood out for me yet but most of them look like decent (at worst) prospects like Cunningham, they were a better team than the rag reserves.

Also, by youth policy do you mean strictly academy or youth in general? If latter, then surely Joe Hart could be an exception? Not academy but signed very young.
