Our new attacking midfielder for the summer

With Tevez maybe moving on in the summer, we'll have Dzeko and Balotelli up front; a magnificent striker duo, and behind them they will have Silva to provide them with goalscoring opportunities.

But Silve is not enough, nor is AJ or sticking Kolarov at the left: we need a creative and quick midfielder who knows how to score this summer. Michael Johnson, as much as it hurts me admitting, will not be up to the standard we are looking for.

So, - who is potentially available and who would consider joining us?

I'll name a few, in no specific order, who I think are among the best in the world right now:

Iniesta - Ideal but impossible
Xavi - Ideal but even more impossible
Fabregas - Very unlikely (and he's too much of a prick anyway)
Xabi Alonso - Very unlikley
Gerrard - Nope, too old
Lampard - Nope, and too old anyway
Kaka - Will maybe... but will he find his way back to his prime I wonder. He would be a huge gamble.
De Rossi - Maybe possible?
Pastore - Likely?
Ozil - Very unlikely
Sneijder - Would be very interesting indeed, and maybe possible?
Gourcuff - Maybe?

There really aren't that many to choose from wouldn't you agree? Who's name am I missing of a plausible target for us in the summer market, and who would you like to see as our new attacking midfielder to play with Silva next season?

He's a winger/wide forward, the OP is talking about someone who can create from the middle where we're sorely lacking now. Otherwise known as the signing that will demote Barry to the bench.

good thread

i'd like to see ozil here. you know what madrid are like, they like to sell and i think he would suit the premiership like a glove

great vision - him and silva.
