This was triggered off by BM saying he'd disappointed we have't signed our targets. Personally, that excuse is starting to wear a little thin and I bet it will with the Sheikh also! I'm a BM supporter but this season we need to start fulfilling our potential...........

I'm not one of these who exepcts us to win the PL this season but I expect us to be bloody close. Our incoming players still around the 1st team squad since the sheikh took over are listed below. Numbers in brackets = total spend, outside brackets are Mancini spend.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/manchester-city-transfers.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premier ... sfers.html</a>

Forwards - Aguero £38m, Dzeko £27m, Balo £24.5m +Tevez? £25m - £90m spent by BM on forwards (£115m)
MF - Yaya £24m, Silva £25m, NDJ £18m, Barry £12m, Milner £24m, AJ £8m - £81m spent by BM on midfielders (£111m)
DF - Zabba £6m, Kompany £6m, Lescott £22m, Kolarov £17m, Clichy £7m, Savic £9m -£33m spent by BM on defenders (£67m)

BM has spent around £205m on players in 18 months. If we do get Nasri +1 more this is going to hit around £250m I assume.

City's total spend since the Sheikh took over has been about £460m (almost 1/2 a billion £'s and with Nasri +1 you could say £1/2 billion) and BM has spent about half of that. Plus a few of Hughes's buys (NDJ, VK, Zabba) and players such as Micah & Hart are still good enough for the 1st team squad. We've probably burned about 25% of the total spend (~£120m) on players who were not good enough and we have either shipped them out or they are on the transfer list.

We've sold about £83m - Net spend of ~£420m (assuming Nasri +1 arrives) and even if you take out the £120m we'll still have spent £300m on playing staff we will keep.

The time for excuses has gone, especially if we get Nasri +1 more as he wants. This season needs to be really close to a PL title and a good showing in cup competitions or he will have failed. Next season we should be aiming at nothing less than the PL title............

Tell us something we don't know.

we know about the spending, but it's not how much you spend in the sweet shop, it's what sweets you buy that makes the difference.

so you want the same as last season, which means you're happy. If so, what's your point?

Kompany and Zaba were pre-Sheikh.

Yeah you count even count Zabba and Berti the day before, as we had to sell Corluka the morning of deadline day so we were not being bankrolled then.

is this a wind up? you sound like a rag! who gives a fuck how much we've spent. the day mansour took over he sold his shares in barclays for £1 billion, every time petrol goes up a penny at the pumps he makes £250 million per DAY.

we only pay the prices we do becuase selling club know we've got the money we have. its all relative and you banging on about the spending makes you sound like a journo at best red scum at worst!

Are you a rag? If not you sound like one, stop moaning we won the FA Cup last year and since we got taken over I am actually looking forward to the new season, we have got to be positive after last season the sky is the limit now, we have been given this wonderful chance of success by Mr Sheikh Mansour and we all should stop moaning about transfer fees it is his money and he can do what he wants with it.
