It's obvious from the number of City fans compared to the number of Arsenal fans in the Birds Nest Stadium, that City still have a long way to go before.....(fill in as appropriate)

We are just starting our long journey where as Arsenal have been on theirs for years now, It will take us 10 years before we have as many fans as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manure etc...

I didn't see the match (working) so can't really comment but with success it's inevitable we'll catch up to some degree. I bet Chelsea's global fanbase was drawfed by Arsenal's in 2004 too, now they have more facebook fans than them and according to Sport+Markt (who are actually a pretty respectable source) are something crazy-sounding like the fourth best supported club in Europe. And that's just Europe, the least bandwagon of the continents.

TBH I was expecting more support. Thought last seasons title win, and how it was achieved, might have attracted a larger following in China. Showing at the friendly.

This fact will please those who don't want lots of "day-trippers" at the Etihad. ;-)

I was there last night mate

And yes, more Chinese supported the arse than City

The most westerners there were supporting City, in fact I only counted three arse fans who were not of Asian extraction

Today in Beijing, came across two Chinese wearing arse shirts, one Chinese in a "new" home City kit and two other western blues in the Summer Palace

Arsenal have been a top 3 or 4 club for the last 15 years, during which they've made considerable efforts to crack the Chinese market. City first broke into the top four a year and two months ago.

Things will happen for us, but it's early days yet.
