Outlook Express

All of a sudden Outlook express will not open on my computer, does anyone know if I can retrieve saved emails any other way.
You see I can access my new emails via the net but I have a couple in outlook that I really need to access.

Had this problem a few years ago so trying to remember how I solved it.

I think Outlook Express stores e-mails in files with a .dbx extension so you have to back-up the contents those files in some way. There will be a Sent.dbx file, inbox.dbx etc. You need to remember exactly where they were.

There is also a file called folders.dbx that contains the folder structure so you need to back that up with the others.

Then delete the existing files and re-install OE. When you've done that copy the folders you've backed up back into the new OE directory structure and it should be OK. If not then you've probably got a problem with the folder structure so will have to delete that and set it up again from scratch before copying the folders back in.
