Over 120 dead after riot at Indonesian football game

There’s plenty of footage of it on Twitter if anyone is interested. It seems to start with a good natured pitch invasion. Lots of laughing and cheering from those still in the stands. Then hundreds of old bill appear from the other end and start smashing anyone they can get their hands on and spraying gas as they flee back into the crowd. I’m guessing the panic of them trying to get out then caused a crush at the exits. The old bill here get criticised for over reacting at times. But Jesus, it just looks mental over there.

Very often hundreds are killed at the Hajj, well over a thousand in 1990.

These things happen where there are tens of thousands attending, that usually means football as it’s the most watched sport in stadia. And this one in the OP appears to be because of a reaction from the police (who are thugs in Indonesia) and it’s innocent fans that got killed trying to escape their charges.
