Overcrowding during Sheffield Wednesday-Newcastle FA Cup tie

Ok, I must have 2 red and black scarves then. I have a drawer full of scarves and shirts with the oldest scarf being from around 1970.
The Nelly Young one we had to pick up from the ticket office with your ticket if I remember correctly. They had boxes of them. Good quality too.

I wonder if we'll get an apology from the likes of Kelly Cates who went to town on us over this, or the journo who originally put it out on Twitter.

I'll not hold my breath.

Did we get the lower tier for that game? I can't remember as I was in the upper tier and funnily enough every time I've been to Hillsborough I've always been in the upper tier so I've never experienced what it's like in the lower tier of the Leppings Lane End. I must admit that I'd have thought since the disaster that there shouldn't be any issues with that tunnel and that end anymore so it comes as a bit of a shock to hear about this.
I sat on the lower tier when we put 6 past em under Keegan( Ali Bernwrbia master class,10/10)

Hillsborough and events /issues such as these should be no surprise..
There were significant crowd safety issues in 1981Spurs v Wolves iirc, with fans clambering over fences to get out of the death trap terrace behind the goal....no lessons learnt ? Just take the money.

Let's remember that the sheff wed FC ground did not have a Safety Certificate for the year of the disaster....id like to know why not?

A disgrace.imo

The club did have a safety certificate but because the turnstyles could not count the numbers who had entered into specific parts of the Leppings Lane end, the number allowed had been reduced but the club had not updated the certificate, as this would make the document invalid you could argue technically the club didn't have one.

These 2 links show the info of reduced numbers and also a certificate was issued in 1988, which could contradicte each other
