Overrated/underrated musicians and bands

Tended not to get too much acclaim from the music press in their homeland back in the day and whilst reasonably popular at their peak, never drew crowds to match those in the U.S.

I saw them back in late 70's but they are one of those bands that have really grown on me over the years.

Seen them loads of times. Most recently Anderson’s voice was quite obviously shot but still absolutely brilliant live.
Don’t know if they were underrated. Always thought they were well appreciated but perhaps never got the same acclaim as many of their peers.

The Buggles were the death of Yes to me.
Although I did play 90125 a lot.

Their 70s stuff was awesome, best prog band by a mile, every member a virtuoso musician.
After that, shite records.
Prog was dead after the 70s, they tried to adapt and got pissed off with each other, fell apart.

Never given their stuff much of a listen but saw them at Glastonbury once and didn't get them at all.......

'Radiator' was in my 20.

Coldplay send me to sleep.

Who needs anaesthetic in the dentist chair when you can listen to Coldplay and nod off naturally. More effective than laughing gas in numbing the mind. Elbow put my ears in so much pain I wouldn't notice toothache.

First time Ive heard that version of the song.
Really quite brilliant.
