Pogba? Are they completely taking the piss?
All the good work by players like Kompany to disprove the "footballers are thick" narrative has been undone in one vote.Pogba? Are they completely taking the piss?
Not if you listen to Spurs fans, they think he’s had a very poor season by his usual standards judging by a few I know. One of the front 3 for Hazard and Erikson for Pogba and seems about right.
Not far wrong imo but I’d have:
Son before Mane
Zinchenko before Robertson (Zin has been the definition of consistent)
Eriksen before Pogba.
They'd be mid table without him.Several Spurs fans I know think Eriksson has been poor this year, especially in the first half of the season.
They'd be mid table without him.
Not just that, he's still right up the top of the league in terms of assists and big chances created. Just because he hasn't been banging in long range goals and free kicks this season doesn't stop him behind one of the very best creative players in the league.Possibly as they have no other creative players.
I've made this point before about these awards. Footballers spend their weekends preparing for, playing and breaking down their own games, they probably watch less matches than the average fan and therefore either go for the media's choice or whoever played well against them over 2 games. Can't say I am surprised by the Pogba inclusion, by and large the majority of footballers are daft and will be swayed by the posts on instagram and twitter. Plenty don't even watch football so how can they really say who deserves it.
