Honestly I thought he was poor last night by his standards and not at his best. Poor distribution and got turned a few times. Gave 100% though.

The moment when our defence were caught up field and he took the player out, taking a yellow card for the team sums him up for me. Doesn't care about his stats or what the pundits say just cares about the team and will do anything to help us win. If you had a team full of players with his fighting spirit and attitude you'd win every game.

What would you have said if a Wigan player did this? Or, just for sake of argument, committed a hand ball when a player was through?

I've always been disappointed that he's not been able to force his way in to the Team week in week out. It's fair because Richards and Clichy are better fits in their full back positions but he's got the attitude and work ethic others (nameless) lack. However, if Zabaleta is happy with his semi-regular appearances then he must remain an important squad player.

Pleased to see him wearing the armband last night.
