Had a DPC in my house a while back, which meant the bottom half of the room is bare plaster. Finally got round to painting it all, but where the new plaster meets the old wall, the paint is causing almost like a bubbling effect.

Any advice on what I should do?

Yep, the plaster will draw the paint in otherwise and look shit, don't listen to people who say not to use it.

well said just about to say the same.
Its a must, let first coat dry and then do it again, in most cases one
coat is enough.
Ex painter and decorator,
