Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Andy.

been there done that

In a nutshell I will break down all the medical advice for you

Eat healthier drink less exercise more and loose weight you fat cvnt!

Yep sound advice there. As a newly diagnosed Diabetic person myself I've had to have a long look at myself in a mirror and evaluate my lifestyle.

Ultimately the old adage is the best, "Everything In Moderation".

Unfortunately that means alcohol. I've cut back tremendously. I still get merry a couple of times a week but I now don't go on the lash and get shit faced anymore.

One piece of good news is that you don't have to pay for prescriptions anymore so that's £120+ saved every year and that saving can be put towards your season card cost.

You'll learn to live with it and what has helped me is that every 4 weeks I go to see the diabetic nurse and she has been brilliant with the help/advice/bollockings.

Goodluck.

Only if you are on tablets for the diabetes. If it's controllable by diet alone, you still have to pay.

As I'm now over 60 (65 in less than 2 weeks), it's free anyway, but if I had to pay for my 9 separate prescriptions per month, It would be nearly £900 a year I would have to fork out. Good job I paid NIC all my life!

What was your symptoms seriously

Being sick and serious pain in the abdomen......never felt pain like it..
Just thought it was stomach ache but slowly got worse until I collapsed.
In Tameside at the minute on the surgical ward and they just told me I may be getting transferred to the MRI.

Omg you poor thing, pancreatitis is really painful. Did they check you out for gallstones? Hope you're soon feeling better. X

Brass neck - so sorry to hear about your mum. It is really a horrible cancer to get. I've had a couple of people close to me with it. Cherish your time with her and get all the support you can. X
