Papa Cisse

Half a season wonder until proved otherwise i am afraid.

Is he better than any of our 4th strikers at the moment? I don't think so.

Hi guys ,Toon fan in peace. Congratulations on the title , dramatic mad end to the season and nice to see it in someone elses hands for a change. Just one thing please don't nick our Cisse ,we don't get much to cheer about as it is.

Cisse is perfect for the Toon army IMO, brilliant striker but would rather admire him playing for a team like Newcastle (not that I want him knocking in any goals against us).

Another player going to the African Cup as well as YAYA, no thanks - January was tough to bear this season with the League Cup defeat!

I feel for Newcastle next season, Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Tiote will possibly all be off to the Cup next year, they could suffer big next January!

Honestly uninterested in any of their players. They are good squad and do more for us (against our competitors) than they hurt us.

Totally. Would prefer to see them keep their players and build into a consistent top 4 challenging side.

Agree we should steer clear.

Apart from looking a bit tasteless just to step in the second someone starts making headlines I think one thing that has emerged over the season is we now understand better the kind of player we want.

Based on our recognised method of breaking a defence down of passing our way through the more people involved in the build up the more permutations you have to get through.(i.e 5 or 6 players popping the ball around the edge of the box is harder to read for the defence than 2 or 3) As such dont think Cisse would really be suited to us for the same reasons that teams like Barce don't use a striker wo doesn't get involved in the build up.

Just my opinion of course!

We do get a lot of wind around Eastlands so a chance for some "wonder goals" lol , seriously I don't think we need to take a chance on him.

Adebayor is 10 times the player and we already have him. Guidetti is pretty much on the same level aswell. Only player from Newcastle i'd take is Tiote, if De Jong goes.

ben arfa would do a job here, no doubt about that

dont see him as being any better as AJ to be perfectly fair. and with Hazard almost certain to come here, he wouldn't get 5 starts a season.

Delighted Newcastle did so well this season. Its great to shake up the established order a bit. I hope you keep your best players there will be a few CL clubs sniffing.

this made me laugh so much

put down the crack pipe

Not for me...he has played blinding for Newcastle, but he needs to prove his worth over a full season.

Can't say I agree with a lot of these comments, Ben Arfa is about as good as Adam Johnson? Really? Ben Arfa has been quality this season, even if Adam Johnson played a full season somewhere like Newcastle, I doubt he'd have a similar impact.

As for Cisse', whoever said Guidetti is on the same level really needs a word with themselves, Cisse' has been the stand out striker in the Premiership since his arrival, Guidetti has done well in the Dutch league, he's nowhere near Cisse's level.

He is a fantastic player but don't really want him, our forwards are better and him and Ba just fit in really well with Newcastle's style and tactics

Serious underrating of Cisse in this thread considering he's been arguably the best PL striker in the second half of the season. But he's not just a half season wonder, he's been top class for the past few years in Germany as well. I think last year he was second only to Gomez in the scoring charts at Freiburg, where he had to do a lot of the attacking by himself with little support.

Most clinical player I've seen in a long while. Gonna bag 25 next season barring injuries or major unforeseen circumstances. You can quote me on that
