Para olympics

Not really a level playing field is it. In the able bodied Olympics there aren't any real threats to the rich west from African nations in sports where you need money for top quality equipment (yatching, canoeing, rowing, horse jumping, cycling) and it's the same at the paralympics with all the wheelchair sports.

who gives a flying fuck about a token minority sport and why is my tax money wasted televising it so the families of the competitors can watch and not to many other people!!!??

you could say the same about the 'normal' olympics.

Of sorts...yes people who educate are normal, they like a laugh, there not politicians, there not paragons of virtue, there not saints....considering the working conditions and the pay...it kinda helps to have a slanted veiw of life..........For P.C and inoffensive drivel...see clergymen, all though they have had there issues as well as "Terry Nutkins" a (forum contributor) will testify........

I know all about teachers seeing as my Ma, two sisters and a couple of friends do the job. None of them are paragons of virtue but they wouldn't refer to disabled people as 'raspberrys'
And i doubt that anyone who is disabled and pays taxes would be pleased that their money funds teachers that do.

That's really tight, I obviously have "head problems" and your calling me "thick" and a "knob-head". That's SOOOOOOOOOOO insensitive...good god..in this day and age!!!!...BTW as for my grammar, yes absolutely terrible....mind you..you should of seen it before spell checks, I had learning difficulties at school, it was called thick in those days, its called dyslexia now, however, I made the most of my life though unlike many disabled folk who use it as a excuse to get fat and do fuck all...Maybe I should get my own special olympics!!!!

not me
At last....some support for my actual point, not other nasty stuff that CERTAIN manipulative people decided to turn a perfectly reasonably question into.

Alan Beswick also thought the paraolyimpics were stupid waste of money and he is FAIRLY right-on, so I'm not totally the right wing, evil psychopath that I am made out to be by some people with SERIOUS issues on here!!!

Whilst I have nothing but respect for the athletes themselves, all the Paralympics does is highlight the differences in social care around the world. Look at the top countries in the medal table and you'll find they are all what we would call developed nations. For example, one of the GB athletes was talking the other day about how his wheelchair cost over £3000. How the hell can people from countries where no help is given to the disabled compete on a level playing field?

funny how so many thickos play the dyslexia card these days. i suppose you diagnosed yourself after you left school and found it a convenient excuse. dyslexia is a word blindness condition not a pitiful ignorance of the spelling and grammar of your own language. (such as 'should of' instead of 'should have'). ignorance is the domain of the stupid not the disabled.

Watched it yesterday after smoking some seriously potent weed. Funniest thing i've seen in ages. TV GOLD.

How would it make you feel watching one of your own take part in this ? Pretty sure you would want the world to see and be as proud as Im sure you would be, and what better place than prime TV.

But then again maybe your right, as all the reality tv bollocks and soaps are much more interesting for those with a simple mind.

Team GB doing us proud. Should get more publicity. Some truely inspirational and moving images and performances.

Nope got diagnosed by the local authority a week before my first A level. The grammer thing probably comes from not being involved with english lessons cos I could only print at 1 mile per hour. I have to agree though, the amount of people who blag the social cos they have a limp or make out they need a car but can manage working for cash as a bouncer in town sickens me.................If some fucker can swim with one arm in a pointless competition, a lot of these lazy disability types can work for a living like the rest of us.......

As you know, I live in Switzerland. I have cable tv with about 300 channels from all over europe. The only major broadcaster giving extensive live coverage is BBC . Every other national broadcaster is running highlight programs on minor channels and barely even a mention on national news. I wonder what the viewing figures are in the UK? Whilst I wouldn't go as far as the threat starter I do think the BBC is over doing what is no more than a minority event.
