I was hoping some of you could help me. It is my mum and dad's 25th wedding anniversary in November and we wanted to send them somewhere, either London, Paris, Rome etc or just on a spa break.

We've been struggling for ideas or things have just been to expensive or not very nice, and hoping you can give some. Our budget is around £400 but I don't want to send them to a shitty hotel that won't be nice anyway.

Thanks in advance

Give us some more info.
What do they like?
Movie buffs?
Concert goers?
Classical, opera?

Although London has some rather expensive hotels that offer up no more than a lumpy bed and a street view may I Suggest you google one of them room/ theatre packages?

Pick a show, pick a hotel nearby and boom...the folks get a lovely weekend away. You get to house sit and drink the old mans scotch.

An example. Never used them myself.

They like walking, nice views etc but also classic things, they'd probably enjoy a show in London. But they'd pretty much enjoy anything, anywhere really nice.

Their anniversary is early November.

Paris is fantastic for walking through. Pisses all over London.

If they like walking, nice views etc etc then google country house hotels. There are hundreds, nay thousands in this lovely country to choose from.

off the top of my head...

East Lodge in Rowsley. Just south of Bakewell so not too far but set in lovely grounds, in a very small village with a great restaurant (The Peacock) nearby.

Two Bridges in Dartmoor. Fantastic hunting lodge type hotel slap bang in the middle of Dartmoor. Ideal for walks and views.

The Swan in Lavenham. Very old, crooked, charming, creaky hotel set in a beautiful untouched village that serves great food and afternoon teas that will kill you. Nice beer as well plus a few ghosts.

Hope this helps.
