Paris 2024 Olympics Thread - 11th August (pg 430)

Fine margins. But that's what it comes down to at this level. She had two disappointing disciplines. They did for her.
A bit of the luck of the draw as well. Kat ran into a headwind in the 200m and some of her completion had a slight tail wind, according to pundits. That wouldn’t have made a huge difference but would have closed the gap a bit. Maybe 10 or 15 points.

She was done at the end. Fair play that was some effort
Almost takes more determination to finish in that condition than win, she could easily have taken the easy option and dropped out. Although clearly not on the same level it reminded me of Derek Redmond in 1992 which is still one of the most iconic Olympic moments for me.

400m men’s hurdles off.

We don’t have anyone to push for the podium, unfortunately.

Good night for the Brit’s and happy for KJ and the relay teams. Shame we can’t have an Olympics without the yanks.

Spain wins their first ever medal in men’s Triple Jump…

And it’s gold!

Day of the Spaniards! ;-)

I was worried this year would be the year Johnathan Edwards record would be broken. Crazy to think it's been near 30 years. I think Diaz or Hibbert potentially could break it in their careers. I hope not.

Watching breaking. Great talent and athleticism but the bravado is sickening. Essentially it is compeitive disrespect.
