Yeah you sometimes wonder are the judges watching the same fight as everyone else,but then we shouldn’t be surprised with previous shock/disgraceful results at Olympics ..

IOC got rid of the IBA in 2019, so they're essentially running the boxing at the Olympics.

Talk is that it'll be dropped in 2028.

Was watching some of it yesterday ,Canada and USA, and there were loads of the spectators taking selfies of themselves against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.
Seems like a waste of bikini viewing time to me

Boxing judges showing it's a farce again

I recall a boxer a few Olympics ago sitting down in protest at a decision and refusing to leave the ring.

The most incompetent people in sport. Their job is basically to sit on their arse and take bribes, so when they get to a proper high-profile sporting event, they don't actually know what to do.

For me, Boxing is like Figure Skating, in that it’s just much less legitimate of a sport than direct competition events because it relies far to heavily on judging, which when it is not outright corrupt, is often unintentionally biased.

It’s hard for me to take competition seriously when the outcome can be so heavily impacted by some person off-screen making decisions that could just may shaded by them having a horrible day (and that’s the best possible cause!).

Many of the athletes are brilliant, mind. But the competitions themselves are just problematic for me.
