Fucking hell, sick of getting popped on the line! Gutted for him. He ran the perfect race and like Kerr, in time will be buzzing to run a PB and ask the race the way he did. How the yank stayed on two feet and kept going when he was clearly fucked 80m out I do not know. You just can't plan for someone else doing that really.

9 second PB for the American for silver. 3 second PB for the 1500m champion, 4th fastest 400m of all time, sometimes you just can't plan for mad shit.
 
Fair does to El Bakkali for winning the gold, as well.

Kept calm and carried on as the other big names were stunned by Rooks.
 
Nice reminder there of just how dominant Johnson was, back in the day. And he had the weirdest running style; pretty much bolt upright. It worked for him, though. And how!

I should add that on the way back from West Ham last season we were talking about fantasy football and my youngest went “oh my dad’s a spreadsheet wanker” (I admit I did have a spreadsheet for fantasy football) - so I was basically on a par with the briefcase wanker from the Inbetweeners! - which unfortunately has stuck
