Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL | Post-Match Thread

Pep knows the failure to sign a striker will probably be our downfall

that’s why he gets so touchy and defensive when asked about it
He shed tears for Sergio going while his chops salivated at the prospect of Kane.
Ended up with nish

Paris didn’t look anywhere near average at anything they did tonight. Their whole game plan was to sit back and counter attack us, and they were excellent at it.

People saying things like “the better team lost” and your wildly wrong take on it, aren’t taking on board the other team’s tactics and gameplan and just think that possession and territory mean you’re the better side.

We were good tonight, but so were Paris and they defended excellently second half not giving us a sniff of a proper chance to score in the half and took their chances.
Disagree, Paris rode their luck plus we lacked the killer instinct.

Their counter attacks were limited to a handful in 94 mins.

Thought we were a bit unlucky
Their first goal had a touch of good fortune about it and us hitting the bar twice with unmissable chances was, unfortunate.
We had good half chances, such as KDB hitting the ball into the keeper's legs from the angle, but no proper ones
When Messi received the ball in all that space, everyone knew what was panning out. A great finish but we totally switched off there
My real disappointment is that when PSG went two up Pep should have conceded the game and made wholesale changes
It was stupid to leave players such as KDB, Bernardo and Rodri chasing a lost cause when there's a much bigger match on Sunday

Not too despondent after that. Thought we played well for long spells and on another day could’ve got something out of the game. They were just more clinical than us. We were up against the best front three in the world though.

One of those games where, on another day, we get the lucky bounces and they don't. Two very high class teams going toe to toe with one another - it's always gonna be finely balanced. Pep clearly sees Liverpool as more important.

Pleasantly surprised to see that social media, reddit etc. All largely agree we were the better side for most of the game and just didn't quite take out chances.

Not a game to get worried about, still think we will finish top comfortably.

Knocked these fckers out twice in recent years when it matters, let them have this group stage game as revenge if they want as we were the better side anyway and even took our foot off at 2-0 and game stats still loaded toward us.

As for their team, neymar right cnt, mbappe greedy as fck, messi non existent except for goal(very good goal tho) not sure I would want any of em here. Hakimi/verratti/hererra all got away with murder and ref a right twat. On another day we score 3 or 4 with some of the situations we created, so suck it up and move on.

Bt commentary again a disgrace, bigging psg up, praising their defensive "effort" with no discernable encouraging of the English side, can you see them doing that to either red club!!! and funny how money wasnt mentioned every time Jack touched the ball, goes to show they "select" when to do it.

This week can still be brilliant if we beat the dippers on sunday, lets do it.
Would so love it if we beat them Sunday. Tonight it just wouldn't go in. We were much the better side. Need to take the chances on Sunday. Got to play with a striker .

BTs analysis is so over the top its embarrassing.
The way they're talking we were on the end of a 4 nil loss.
Mate, you and @chaddblue and anyone else watching BT coverage, honestly lads, it’s of course up to you, but I can’t advise you strongly enough to find some way of watching our European games via a different provider; if you stick with BT all season it will spoil your enjoyment of City in Europe so much.
I had it last year on the bt app, and only used it to watch the actual match, none of the analysis or half time shite, but this season I’m not even bothering with that.
