Paris Saint-Germain (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Didsbury you are spot on however for too many its dependant on the outcome which is rather petty considering.

Of course we would have loved to have won our first last year but if you get to the knockout stages each year eventually that door opens.

I think too many of the older brigade such as myself knowing what it was like to support us for most of our lives still in the back of their minds believe we don't belong as there is a need to submit to the past.

I could be wrong but I think they are missing the enjoyment of the game and also as you say pitting ourselves on what is on offer in Europe.

Last night was as good a win as I have seen with us playing on the big stage as well as I have seen considering we had a weakened squad.

if you didn't get a thrill out of that performance and result then maybe your in the wrong game.
very good post. Us older fans have seen all of the ups and downs but surely we are at the top of the curve now where the greatest players and top teams are both genuinely scared of and outplayed by City. Like you say, anyone who can't enjoy and revel in this should definitely watch another sport.

I'd like to hear from that weird "I'm not bothered about the Champions League" sect. One of the joyless twats collared me in the bar beforehand and I had to move away. After first of all informing me that the stand was full of PSG fans and it was going to kick off, he then said "I just can't get excited about games like this".

WTF? Surely every Blue now must be absolutely loving seeing us pit ourselves against the best players, teams and managers in the world.

I have all sorts of bones to pick with UEFA and various things about the format of the UCL but I don't get this we don't care about it or get excited about it. You will rarely see a game with as much football talent on show as we saw last night.

Normally I would always have the league as priority because cup competitions can turn on luck etc but we need to get that first win in the competition sorted.

Sadly, I couldn't travel up yesterday and gave my ticket away but I hope to attend a few more UCL games this season and am desperate to go to another final.

For me the highlight of the match was how quickly we got back to our shape as soon as we lost the ball . It looked like a fucking christmas tree .So happy to see how well this team is drilled from front to back.
City city

I'm old brigade but I absolutely believe we belong. Doesn't mean I am not gobsmacked by just how good I think we are and worry that I may have too much of a blue tint of my glasses. So winning this would also feel like some sort of vindication.

Is It time to admit we are a better side without Kev in the 11 ??
It is a fair debate because we saw the same thing in 18/19 when Kev was injured and for a shorter spell last season. There is no doubt that the Rodri/Gundo/Bernardo combination is performing fantastically. However a fully-fit KDB gets in any team in my view. I also think Kev is very effective when he operates on the right of the front three. We are lucky to be spoiled with such riches.

The amosphere has been better at all the CL games this season (including the alleged small crowd against Leipzig) than in the PL. I am an old git who loves European football and loves seeing younger fans in the stadium. Of course I get pissed off with all the selfies etc but the reality is that the atmosphere was joyous last night.
Football is changing and mostly for the better in my view. I can remember the 70s and 80s, lot of great times being young, but lots of half-empty dead stadiums with hooligans and crap facilities. The moaners should just stay at home watching repeats of Bargain Hunt!

Watched bt this morning that little fat judas **** Owen saying Chelsea and Liverpool are more likely to win it than city as they are better equipped we schooled Chelsea away should have been 4 up at anfield what a **** that little shithouse twat is, to go to your bitter enemies shows what a know fuck all little arse wiping snidely **** he is
