Jesus on the bench is the biggest surprise to me, thought he would be a shoe in for a start. I really hope that's zinchenko left back, same midfield as weekend and cancelo in an advanced left wing position, I've been banging the cancelo on the wing drum for ages now. If it's not that I think we struggle. Bench is very thin.

Think that is exactly how we are playing. Zinc be a extra defender to make sure we have a extra defender to stop the overload of messi/mbappe

We’ve tons of injuries and we’re basically through but for an absolute miracle for Brugge.

Taking a lot of stick for this but yes. Sterling left and Mahrez right has always made us slow. Bernardo is our best midfielder by a lot and it appears he’s playing cf with Zinchenko playing a position he almost never plays for us. Maybe the shape is different from how it is depicted but to my eyes it’s a lot of players off form, returning from injury, or out of position and that always results in a really lethargic performance.

I just don’t think Mahrez and Sterling are in form enough to carry us and it’s hard for an XI to play a bunch of players out of position and still function. I understand that injury has forced his hand a bit but if I’m playing Sterling it’s wide right. Id probably play Jesus left and maybe try Palmer again but it would of course be a very big spot for him. Bernardo needs to be in midfield with Gundogan and Rodri with our most settled back 4
