This season definitely has the feel of a Transitional season for us - we f*cked up our big chance to monopolise on winning the Title in the summer - good and proper - and we haven't looked nearly as strong this year. It feels like the powers at City have decided to stick with their hand until the Summer, and re-evaluate then.
The big factor in this mind-set for me was our abject failure in the Champions League - had we got out of the Group, I think we might have seen some movement in January to bolster the CL Campaign. But we didn't, so we should be able to compete for the League and the FA Cup with what we've got.
Come the summer, we'll either stick with Mancini and back him in the market, or we'll change our Manager - and back him in the market. Either way, I predict a quiet January - no-one in and no-one out - and a very busy Summer of change ahead.
