Paul Hince

Many thanks - appreciate your kind comments. Felt as though i lost it for a second.
I reckon you did, we all did, your words typified what we all went through, so glad it's been saved for the rest of time as it typifies what being a blue was/is all about.
Apologies for going off topic, Hincey was another blue through and through and his words will also be remembered by those of us who read his columns.

A sad day. Spent almost a decade travelling the country covering City with Hincey in the 90s. A man with a million stories, all of them hugely entertaining. A brilliant writer and a kind man with a heart of gold. He often summarised at away games when I was commentating for BBC Radio Manchester and he was as as sharp, incisive and humorous on air as he was with his match reports for the MEN and his weekly column. Hincey loved City, loathed United. Thanks for the memories Paul. A first class journalist; a fan who played for the team he idolised and a character who lit up a press box the moment he walked in. Farewell my friend. Andy Buckley x
There were times when Radio kept me feeling at home, when at University and those dreaded can't make it to the game days. Love reading and listening to everything City. Such passion, care and love shone in his work. Peace and love, with condolences to all connected or related to Paul Hince.

Very sad. I saw Hince play in the late 60s and later read his stuff in the MEN, a decent paper then.
Hince was a true blue who hated the rags. One of us.
RIP Hincey.

RIP Hincey. Very sad news indeed. My first job was a messenger boy with the Evening news. Can't tell you how excited I was when I was put on the sports desk. Him, Gardner and Meek. All good guys and proper journalists, unlike the utter fucking vermin of today. He always had a quip and and a joke for us. He always used to shout out.. coffee time and shake his cup, I'd walk over and get it and he'd shout, 'Thankyou young man..you'll go far..out of the door'. It was never that funny tbh but he was always good fun. Condolences to the Dragon and locusts :(

R.I.P Paul. Although I'll never forget your " Simon Colosimo will take the Premiership/Premier League by storm"

Good loyal blue.
We've all had one of those tbf. I saw Kare Ingebritsen's debut and thought he was going to take us into Europe.

Think he did in the end, but only by booking the players on a post-season Norwegian fjord cruise.

Paul only made 11 appearances for City - 7 in the League and 4 in the League Cup - but I certainly remember him well given his 4 goals, two in his debut versus West Brom. I don't know if he made enough appearances to qualify for a medal in 1968.

He was already a cub journalist when he played for City and soon established himself in that field.
