I've returned with haste to where my love does lie
Posted on behalf of LawsBackHeel:

I know not related to this to this post but I cannot start a new thread yet, but just read the Paul Lake piece on MEN and think we should drum up some support for the book to help the fella out.

I know he is working for city now but think he could do with all the help we can offer him.

The guy is a true legend and after everything this club put him through he is still working and doing great things for us.

So can somebody please start a thread (I have looked but could not find anything) and help one of our true legends out.

Thanks

I shall be buying this book, was talking to Paul about it at the end of last season and it sounds very interesting.

I hope that it sells well for him and that there is a signing session at the City shop in the stadium grounds.

Your welcome. Its a shame we never got to see him realise his full potential. I truly believe that if it hadnt been for the injuries he would have been one of the best midfielders the Prem would have seen. He was already a quality player before it happened.

I will never forget the Derby 89 he was the best player on the pitch by a mile, the funniest think was I was at the swamp pre season for Albisons testominial I think it was and we won 2-0 and all they could say was it was a practice match and they would destroy us at Maine Road, Time for lakey to take centre stage and walk all over them, he made Pallister look like the shite he was haha.

Was fortunate to meet the guy at one of my last Junior Blue meetings, he was there with Andy Hinchcliffe and Stevie Redmond, one of the best memories I have.

There's already a couple of threads on here about Paul's book - but as i love the guy there's nowt wrong with another one!

I pre ordered from amazon last week, both the guardian piece and the men one make such sad reading, as i'm sure the book will, but Paul deserves all our support (and i know he gets it from most of us) - even in with his career cut short he is still one of the best players to play for us, and that isn't said with hindsight, it's said as fact.
