How come the £120m fee bandied about last week is now only £89m...the rags never let the facts get in the way of media manipulation
To be fair, they're getting the same treatment we get with regard to fees.
Euros are being interchanged with pounds, and the potential 'extras' are all being added in too. So if they're paying 89m pounds, that's 105m euros, then add on 15m of extra's agent fees etc, and it comes out at 120m euros.

The media like to hype up a fee by saying it's a 120m 'deal' - not a transfer fee.

It's impossible to compare value when you have Everton asking for £125m for Stones and Lukaku.

Of course it's a great buy for Utd. I wouldn't say it puts them in contention for the title because for me Ibrahimovic is too static and makes them easy to defend against. I think they might struggle to open teams up.

I agree. It's why i was delighted when they signed Ibrahimovich, bringing in somebody like Higuain for example would of made them dangerous this year, as it is with Ibrahimovich and Rooney upfront i don't see the threat so long as we and other teams perform to their potential.

It's strange that a world record fee signing doesn't necessarily make them significantly stronger. For me, Pogba's a luxury player that shines when surrounded by quality ad is best used in an advanced role. United lack that quality and will be looking at him to drag them through games similar to what Yaya has done for us over the years. I don't see Pogba as that type of player. Sure, he'll score the odd worldie to win them games but won't do it consistently enough.

Starting 11 ours or theirs now? Keeper - De gea over both ours. Defence - Neither are great but again probably them. Midfield - Gundogan is the best of the lot so we'd probably edge that. Attacking Midfield - us easy. Attack - Well we have Kun which is better than any of theirs tbf but if he gets injured all we have is a promising teenager. They have Ibra Rooney martial Rashford. Worried.

Keeper, Shaw and Pogba are the only ones that could make our best side, and potentially Martial. Quality wise, they're nothing to be afraid of, the problem may lie with how quickly Pep can get us playing how he wants and how quickly Mourinho can get them parking the bus (a significantly easier thing to do)

Exactly.

Neither of those play as strikers tbf so included them in attacking midfield where I said ours is easily better.
Neither are Martial or Rashford. Both are playing wide for Jose.

So the comparison is direct.

If you include Martial and Rashford, then a comparison is with Nolito, Sane and Sterling.
