Paul Pogba

I believe he will end up at Madrid, Juventus will always do right by there players. I was listening to David Amoyal the other day on a youtube channel and he made a very good point. He pointed out that When big players for Juventus like Tevez and Pirlo came and asked to leave they waved the transfer fee because they felt they had done the job at their club, so if Pogba does want Madrid and it sounds like he does. Juve will either reject the United offer and deal with Madrid. And secondly isn't Dimarzio very good friends with Raiola? This could just be one friend doing another a favor, and they are now trying to force Madrid's hand, and encourage them to make an offer.

If the rags get Pogba, I am not even going to lie but I will be absolutely gutted. One because he's a class player and would improve their side tenfold, two because it will put an end to the Bonucci and Kroos rumours and we won't get either of them.

We need to hope that Pogba holds out for Madrid and they come in with a big offer and knock Utd to the curb. This transfer will well and truly define our summer window, it's either going to be good or shit.

If we can't get Kroos from this window, then it's been a bit of a disaster in my eyes seeing as we have been linked with Pogba for the past 2 seasons and suddenly just turned our back on him. It should be us as a club who are making these type of signings and not a team playing in a Mickey Mouse competition.
If there close to getting pogba which means we don't get Kroos surely it would make sense to go all out for pogba

Money time for everyone involved on this one. Going to be really interesting to see what Juventus do, and if they do accept the offer what Madrid do. I'd be really surprised if they completely stood aside. Kinda hard to believe that a player Zidane wants, and who's so high profile and wants to play in Spain, Perez isn't at least going to try to sign.

From City's point of view. If Madrid don't go for Pogba it would suggest that they aren't going sell Kroos whatever the offer. I get the feeling if he does end up at United this place is going to go into meltdown as much for that reason as the fact that we've been linked with him for so long.

It's true City have been linked with him for a few seasons now, but Pep cooled our interest. He's clearly not part of Pep's plans and signing him would be pointless at this stage.

As for Kroos, yes, it complicates the issue, but it's ultimately Toni's choice either which way. If we can convince him to come he will come.

Why haven't Real stepped in? Maybe they are waiting for the end of the Euros or maybe they just don't want Pogba. Why is there so little interest in the man that he has to bite the bullet and deal with the team that he despises? Food for thought.

All up to pogba now dose he go to Madrid who he wants to play for or will the pressure from juventus and his agent for financial reasons make him go to the rags

I hope we are not going to subsidise the bulk of RM's Pogba bid, significantly overpaying for Kroos, to stop the rags getting Pogba?

I certainly don't want the rags to get Pogba, but FFP still seems our biggest constraint with new signings.

Ideally, would rather we competed and signed Pogba ourselves. If this is not possible then we should only pay the market rate for Kroos.

All too often we seem to pay a huge "City tax" with our acquisitions, and buying clubs expect incredible bargains with our sales.

The whole of Europe has the PL Clubs by the balls this season,so its not just City who are paying a premium.

I have no problem paying "City tax" for world class players, but we have too often paid over the odds for average players, that is our problem.

Yeah, rather overpay for quality rather than for 3rd tier players, but instead we are busy telling Auba and Pogba that they are too expensive for us.

Exactly, starting to piss me off a bit. Lumbered with players like Fernando and Delph for the long haul.

Exactly. City need to stop shopping at aldi and start shopping at harrods. We have the money and money is no object, let's use it to our advantage instead of wasting it on players who won't get us anywhere near champions league glory.

I mean, it can't be because of financial reasons can it? Last season we spent £44m on Sterling, £54m on De Bruyne and £27m on Otamendi and now it looks like we are serious about John Stones for £50m.

I think the Aubamayang and Pogba deals are probably not happening because:
The agents involved want stupid money for themselves and their clients.
The players in question haven't shown any desire to play for us. This is just speculation but Sterling/De Bruyne were "seduced" by City and fought to sign for us. Gundogan was worried we would reject him after the knee injury and it sounds like Stones will try to force Everton's hand. I think the club is much more willing to throw down stupid money if the player shows some character and determination to come to our club.

This also might sound like sour grapes, but I still believe Aguero and De Bruyne are the best players in England anyway, and that Pogba is not worth £60m never mind the £90m United are rumoured to be offering.
