Offence isn't given, it's took..
I met Paul a few times and shared a few "morrocan woodbines" and never knew he was a City fan.

A great loss to blue eyed soul. If anyone wants to hear any of his strained vocal masterpieces then the ubiquitous 'No Parlez' can be picked up for 10p from most branches of Scope.

What I'd like to know is what is Ian Wilson doing these days.
I was at Burnage Grammar with him hundreds of years ago.

Wrong one mate. But then I suspect you already knew that.;O)

One of the most under-rated voices in British music.

Pisses all over the "other" Paul Young!

Saw Sad Cafe a handful of times.. didn't they start up at The Oaks in Chorlton?

Shame that he never got the recognition he deserved. Didn't realise he was a City fan... just makes him even more of a legend.

-- Tue Jun 08, 2010 6:10 pm --

Is this a Clarkie by any chance..?

I didn't realise he was a blue? Sad Cafe were always a bit 'hit and miss' for me, but I do think that Paul Young had a great voice, and now I know he was was one of us I shall remember him much more fondly. Didn't he also share vocal with Paul Carrack in 'Mike and the Mechanics?'

worked at his old house in Altrincham a few months ago - its got one of those blue plaques on the wall- the new people were ripping his old recording studio out of the cellar , i think they said that one of Doves used to go out with his daughter and used to pracise down there
