pc files vanished

turned on my pc which i only really use for my itunes this afternoon and instead of being greated by my man city wall paper it was instead the generic packard bell page,it ws on seeing this i got an incling something was up.So i went to view my pics and there were none there,then i clicked on itunes and it was like basically starting from scratch and it started to input my music files into itunes also all play lists and ratings and such likes were gone...so any ideas please as its googled me,

you havent logged on to a guest acct have you?

i'm off for a pint now so wont be able to help right now.
post some more information about your pc, operating system, what antivirus you have, is everything updated?

check that other thread out (where you mentioned tea-timer)
follow some of the instructions in there, hijackthis, malwarebytes etc.

From what little I know about computers from my 8 year old computer, it seems to me that you have signed in as another user or a guest on your computer.

Sometimes when windows updates install, they revert the way you log in to a user or guest screen, and you might have logged in incorrectly. Shut down and restart...and while its restarting cross your fingers and think positive thoughts

I'm probably wrong, but I just want to regain the ability to post topics, as everytime this site gets updated I lose a few hundred posts, and getting tired of it too
