righto, my laptop has decided ive got a virus. Now i have AVG and malwarebytes on it, but when i try and go on the net (click internet explorer) it just automatically re directs me to xp security centre and mithers me to purchase some protection. Ive ran a full system scan on my AVG and it came back with no faults, but my malwarebytes wont open.
fcuk knows what it is but any help would be appreciated. Im on works computer at the mo by the way

I've had same type of virus on my home pc and recently works pc as you have. Try doing system restore from safe mode then running malwarebytes after (in safe mode). Press F8 as computer is starting up to access safe mode.

Also try ending the program if you know what it is from task manager - Ctrl + Alt + Delete (might be something like anti-virus pro 2010 or the latest one I had on works pc was called Better Malware Protection - was listed as BM and then a few numbers) and then running Malwarebytes and AVG.

Good luck!

Your welcome, whatever program has downloaded on your pc is disabling malwarebytes, suprised it hasn't disabled AVG too. Have nearly launched my pc through window before now trying get rid of similar to what you have got on your laptop. I think you should see what it is actually called because it advertises itself for you to purchase and bullshits you into thinking its found a load of viruses.

PS Take a look through the technical forum on here too - you might also find some good advice on there which I have done in the past, and Google is always your friend for advice!

yeh the virus thing its trying to get me to buy is comin up with all kinds of shit, but surely if ive managed to run AVG and no viruses have been found its a load of bollocks right?? Ill have alook when i get home anyway
