I have replaced a PSU that went chips (had it checked) shoved in a new ATX PSU & the thing starts up, fans whir & the HD light on the front lights up BUT not getting a signal to the screen whatsoever & no sound (beeps)........ no idea if it just aint booting up OR it just is not transmitting video/sound......... Not sure if my outgoing PSU smoked the motherboard/CPU any checks to eliminate faults? not easy with no screen

my new PSU had the same connectors as the old one & checked re-seated to no avail

Frank,
Check all the connections, ensure they are pushed on firmly.
Does the cooling fan for the processor run?
I have had a similar problem a couple of times, first time just connections, second time the faulty PSU fried my CPU
No post beeps is a bad sign, best of luck fella.

If the BIOS isn't even posting then it's probably the motherboard.

Try a new CMOS battery incase it has gone flat (unlikely but something to try). Also, modern day graphics cards have a 4/6 pin connector on them and your PSU should have one cable that comes off it that you need to plug into the graphics card to power it up.
Also, to eliminate everything, try a different mains cable if you are using the same one from when the original PSU blew up, when mine did the same it saw off 2 mains cables we tried into the old PSU.

Good luck!
