On Chelsea he added: “When we play against Chelsea I say the impression is we play against a small team with very good players.”

This is becoming a constant theme of his, daring people to try and play against us. LOL

There can be no doubt Pellegrini detests him after Mourinho has disrespected him several times. He puts himself accross as a calm guy but you can see there's a competitive fire in his belly. He will be desperate to wipe the floor with him this season.

I think there is a touch of the Bjorn Borg about Pellegrini. The ice cold exterior is in large part him not trusting himself not to really let rip if he lets his guard down. Mourinho has succeeded in getting under his skin in both Spain and England a few times. Now, in a highly controlled manner, it's pay back time. Mourinho himself, although a master of mind games, is hotheaded and currently under enormous pressure. It would be very funny if Pellegrini made him completely crack up.

This is the sort of thing that absolutely destroys Mourinho. For all the talk of him being a "master of mind games", he cannot take it at all. He gets so wound up when anyone says anything about him, it's hilarious. Fat Sam had it right when he said he can't take it.

It's a phalasy mind games, mourine and Fergie blah blah blah, the masters of mind games blah blah blah. It's easy when your on top, to make snide digs at rivals and claim to win mind games. Like now, pelle can make that comment, nothing comes back, what can mourine say when he's started the season like they have? Nothing, so pelle won the mind games. ?. It's basically a bully boy tactic, only used when on top, mocking those below you, saying nothing when not on top

The mind games pelle has won is with in the squad, given them a bit of a siege mentality, go out and prove we are the best. Show last season was a blip, form is temporary, class is permanent sort of thing, get out there and show the media/prem/the world just how good we are, how dare they write us off, go show em

Yesterday's press conference:

Journalist: "Kevin's been in England before. Why do you think it didn't work for him last time?"
Pellegrini: "I can't analyse that because I don't have the information about that. Different teams have different moments. Really, it's very difficult for me to analyse."
Journalist (**** presses him further): "It wasn't a concern to you that he just wouldn't be suited to English football?"
Pellegrini (with a cheeky smile): "No, no, I'm not concerned about that because I know the way he plays and I know the way our team play and I'm sure that in our team he will be very important.

In other words, we compliment De Bruyne's style, which is full of verve, swagger and flair coupled with a fierce desire to attack whenever ever possible. Chelsea, on the other hand, play shit boring football and have a manager who stifles any attacking impulse out of his creative players e.g. SWP, Joe Cole, Mata and his next conquest, Eden Hazard. That is why he will be a success!

Pellegrini definitely despises the odious fucker that is Maureen and I, for one, agree with his sentiments.

I seem to recall, during the game away at Chelsea last year, the camera caught a glance at mourinho screaming at someone (referee?) and pellegrini staring at him with an expression that spoke volumes - you couldn't say "wtf, you utterly mental moron" without actually saying a word better than that.

I think Pellegrini is way more intelligent than the average hack and the average manager, and he knows how the media work. Just one word needs to be thoughtlessly or carelessly chosen and they are on it like the pack of hyenas they are. Pellers was also chosen as manager to be the antidote to Mancini, who is more in the mould of Moaninho!

I think he's playing mind games with posters in the Matchday Thread by playing 4-4-2!

I think people are right, I was wrong.

I was wrong, to partially go along with the criticism of Pellegrini last year from the likes of Neville. It was mystifying, to see us constantly persevering with a style of play, without adapting to the situation.

And what I believed then, remains true today. This isn't mind games. Pellegrini really believes that his teams, should play like big teams, teams that play football, NO MATTER WHAT. He just concentrates on football his way. That the words he believes in has a mind game affect, is an aside to his true belief in the game. Well maybe. :-D
