Pellegrini - The English Managers Syndrome

It makes me even more sad that we replaced Mancini with this guy. All defensive discipline abandoned and that's what wins titles.

It's not even worth dwelling on Mancini anymore mate, he's in a completely different class to this guy. The more you think about it, the more absurd it seems.

We were of course much more solid under Mancini, but we were the top scorers in the league under him as well remember. The idea we were a defensive team is based purely on the fact that Mancini is Italian.

He's turned us into Wengers Arsenal. He's stripped the steel out of the team and we're too easy to play against. Seems a nice bloke but not demanding enough of his team.

This is exactly what he has done. We used to bully teams in midfield, power through them now we just step aside and let them walk through us

Can anyone remember a loss or a draw where the manager didn't use these two phrases in his post match interview:

"We had lots of chances to score"

And

"Joe Hart didn't have many saves to make"

The notion appeared at the time to be that Bobby was restricting the team, something I disagreed with. In fact the players, for whatever reason downed tools, I'm not sure if that was the general feeling between them or something he had done to instigate it.

Pelligrini came and the shackles were off, they didn't need a great deal in the way of coaching. They played with a freedom that wasn't there in those last weeks of the previous season. Now, he's been found out, in a big way.

You see Mancini is a disciplinarian. He drives and leads, Pelligrini gives kisses and cuddles. Personally, I think the former is the correct way to manage and this should be supported by those above even when the players see their ass. I say that because I think one or two of them have seen their ass again with a much softer approach. So clearly there is an issue with one or two players here.

Mancini is a legend in my eyes. One of the greatest managers around. Pelligrini isn't fit to wipe his boots based on recent performance.

Unless the players pull him out of the shite he won't be making anyone's top ten city managers in the years to come, 2016s frank Clark

Your second to last sentence has made my evening

We have regressed alarmingly while others have made a lot of ground on a squad that was light years ahead of the domestic competition not too long ago. West ham fans doing the oles today was an indicator of how much.

Roll on the summer.

Roll on the summer but it's all getting a little silly on here again tonight I see.

3 points off top not bottom boys and girls and yes, we are still in all 4 competitions.

Off to watch Luther, good night all.

Not even Billy and his mate? Are they not still trotting out the line that Pellegrini is world class and our saviour?! ;-)

It's a shame that in the weakest league for years, with a squad as brilliant as ours, we're counting down the days until next season. We should be relishing the here and now! How we ended up with this guy I'll just never know.

Blueinsa has seen the light but billy might cry a bit but only because he doesn't like being wrong
I take it back,we are still in 4 comps has made an appearance from blueinsa lol
