Penalties: Do we get less than most?

It always amazes me how few penalties we get per season, deserved or undeserved (never). Compared to most prem teams how do we compare. Not asking for stats but general opinion.

Never really been a team of divers and do not have much in the way of "penetrating" midfielders/attackers. Maybe Bellamy will help change that?

That said, when we should, we don't get them anyway!

Newcastle away Beye got the ball

We have got away with a few against Wigan and Newcastle at home recently, the Wiga trip evened out the one at the JJB.

It was our last away match in 2002/03 when we got our first penalty (in front of the Anfield Spion Kop to win the match), so we have had worse seasons. That season there were quite a few nailed on pens not given.
