Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

Creativity is most certainly a problem. We used to create something like 10/15 chances per game. Desperately trying to score without a no 9. This season we only need to give Haaland 2/3 decent balls and struggle to do so. It’s a typical city problem. Stop overthinking and overplaying the ball and pass it into space for the big fella to have a shot. It’s like we got used to playing a certain way and can’t change it up.

Not utilising Haaland is a disgrace tbh.

I heard a stat on Why always me podcast that on average aguero got around 45-50 touches a game… Haaland is in the mid-20s (which is not a criticism of a Haaland - just a fact he sees comparatively less of the ball)

If you couple that with typically our wingers are high, wide and inverted - then you have three creative players seeing much less action and the reliance is on the midfield to make up that creativity

It’s no wonder we are struggling to make chances

I don't think it is ? if the officials are hell-bent on not giving us anything, then why put yourself in the firing line
I really think teams like united and the so-called elite use the advantage they have with the officials and will do anything to win against us, you see it all the time faking injury or the softest of touches next thing the card out
so you let players like rico get hacked ad infinitum, as you say we get nothing off the refs, don't think so, a few home truths to the likes of that twat hojbjerb is ok by me and i want it

on the no one stood up for Rico bit. I am 100% sure if berny or walker had been on the pitch they would have, especially Bernardo who isn't afraid to kick off

you only have to read the match day thread to see the entitled fans we have ,if i could be arsed id trawl through those half time comments and fucking shame the slapped arses , the match day thread is nothing short of embarrassing , i have never spoken to a blue face to face and heard them spout so much shite as i read on there, you call yourselves blues, your not, your glory hunters the worst sort of fan and i wish half of you would fuck off, spoilt cunts
I wasn’t on it for that game, but can imagine there was some ott stuff said. But do you ever go on Matchday threads of other clubs? Probably not, why would you, but complaining about the comments on a Matchday thread is like complaining cos the sky is blue.

I don’t know where you sit, but as a citizen card holder i get the pleasure of sitting all over the ground across any given season and comments like ‘oh fuck off Sterling, that was shite’ for one example (deliberately not naming a current player) and the rest are certainly ones I’ve heard a few times. I come out with all sorts of stuff during the match simply because I’m stressed AF and want us to win so much. The sort of stuff I would never say, and in the same way, at any other time.
If you genuinely want half of us to fuck off, that’s a bit sad to put it mildly.

Can't believe how many posters have jumped on the "City fans are shit" bandwagon. As though our fans are any worse than anyone else's. It's exactly what our enemies want and assists them in their bias. The critics, of course, are exemplary fans who cheer and chant all the time and have never left early. They haven't even mildly cursed when Eddie has dropped a bollock.

At the same time, they don't want drums or someone directing chants. They don't like light shows or half-time entertainment because its "cheesy". All part of modern life I suppose. I'm perfect, you all need to improve yourselves.

Pleasing to hear Pep put the boot into the leadership upstairs.

The Board of Directors must be quietly celebrating the ‘net spend trophy’, and half expecting an invitation for a lap of honour on the final day of the season.

It both annoys and amuses me that the Board endorsed the sale of Raz and Zinny without replacing them. I can hear them slapping one another on the back over a glass of port, and admiring one another’s business acumen and financial penny pinching.

While our Board celebrates the ‘net spend trophy’, Arsenal, Chelsea and the scum will be moving heaven and earth to overtake us.

City aspire to be the biggest club in the world. It’s time the Board actually took the gloves off financially, backed Pep to the hilt, and stop making Pep fight battles with one arm tied behind his back.

So good on you Pep!

Not really the point though is it. And he said as much later on.

The fuckers spill onto the pre-match threads and moan, whinge and whine there way through spouting negtive bollox and slagging off players before a ball has even been kicked.

Serious question.
Do you actually believe any of that ?
Celebrating the net spend trophy ?
Not backing Pep ?
The whole post is bizarre and, crucially, untrue .

What I love is how many different ways a single statement of Pep's can be interpreted. 'We have become complacent, at all levels the whole club'
- not happy with the board
- fans shouldn't have bood
- fans should make more noise
- he wants a LB
- he thinks we're entitled
- Kevin is stirring shit cause he has a face like a slapped arse and he fucked belgium up, even gundo said it
- he doesn't know what a ticket costs
- maybe he does and is unhappy real fans are priced out
- he really wanted cucurella
- foden is being a twat.
- he wants more signings
- liverpool are the best club in the world

This should be pinned to the top of every Matchday thread. Surely it's in the mods best interest, it's not a nice thread to be in, even when we're winning lol

Where I sit in CB3, there are four seats in front and four behind that are held by a Scandinavian supporters club. There are eight different people in those seats each game. At both the Palace and Spurs games at half time, we are two nil down, and most of the eight have booed loudly, clearly really annoyed that their once a season, expensive trip to watch the champions is not going to plan. They seem to feel cheated or personally let down, because they are attaching themselves to City because they want to be associated with success.
Perhaps it is like shelling out for concert tickets to watch a legendary band, and they don’t play any of their greatest hits. You would be a bit let down.
This is the new fan demographic the club wants and wishes to monetise, but it comes at a cost and the team cannot have a bad patch or even a bad half.

I booed because we had played badly and made stupid mistakes.

Like Pep, I can accept losing to a better team every day of the week (within reason)

I can't accept half arsed efforts and elimentary mistakes.

I won't accept it from Pep or the players. They are supposedly at the top of their profession and while nobody is perfect, the failings have been on show for the majority of this season.

It means too much to me. Passion comes in all forms, Pep, and I have more than you will ever have for this Club.

Irrespective of how brilliant you are at your job.

Football consumes you?

My love for City consumes me more. Not even in the same postcode.
So, basically agreeing with Pep?

You missed mine, he is on a massive wind up and taking the piss out of the media while openly writing us off early doors as mancini did while privately we went full throtle.

I never booed on Thursday as I was getting the pints in, missed both the spuds goals but for a joke I shouted Pep out at the screen

Well, that then ended up in a bit of a row with 2 women and I think 2 sons. Although one of the women was old so they could have been her grandsons

I normally would have said, it's a joke but one woman called me a spurs fan, one was more rude

So I dug in. Said its my opinion and mentioned a few of his mistakes, stubbornness etc

Anyhow, I hope to see them tomorrow and ask how they feel seeing as he had a dig at home fans.

I bracketing myself in the greatest fans as I go all away games and he said we are the best.......
