It would be interesting how his legacy would be viewed if we didn’t win anything this season and he left. The two league titles were obviously incredible, but he would have spent £600 million plus on a squad that already contained De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Sterling and Fernandinho to win just two league titles and an FA Cup in five years.

Pep needs to realize that the last time he got caught up in the La masia / Catalunian sentiment was his last season at Barcelona, when, for sentimental reasons, he brought Fabregas back to Barcelona and kept trying to force him into the starting team , that turned out to be Pep's worst season at Barcelona, as they finished second in la liga and got knocked out of the ucl by Chelsea, after that he went on a sabbatical, now the Ironic thing is this, despite the love Pep showed to Fabregas, Fabregas has since jumped on every chance he gets to subtly discredit Pep.

I see the same pattern repeating itself here with this Garcia love-fest, I get it the kid is a Catalan and from La Masia but he just isn't cut out to play in the English league. This kid could be the downfall of Pep this season and one common trait with the entitled la masia products is that they believe they are just too good and its never ever their fault, just look up the interviews of bojan, deulefeou, tello, cuenca and Fabregas, there's always someone else to blame, in the case of Cesc, he even went as far as saying Mourinho was the best manager he had played under and that Mourinho was a better manager than Pep, all that bad blood because he couldn't cut it at Barcelona, I see the same happening with Garcia.

These entitled la masia players always sulk and blame others when things don't go their way rather than fit with the style of the league and I see the exact same thing happening with Garcia, kid just wouldn't adapt to the style of play in the pl, wouldn't hit the gym to put on some extra pounds either! Pep doesn't need to show preference to anyone, he owes his allegiance to the club and not to Catalonia or Barcelona, the sooner he realizes this, the better.
Pick the players based on merit and let Garcia be on his way to Barcelona!

I know you despise Garcia but this is some crazy stuff. Who would you have played at centre half? Harwood-Bellis getting his debut against Vardy?

THB is an actual defender, Garcia isn't. Its instinctive! You could bring a 17 year old defender who has all the attributes and physique of a defender and he would do the job as opposed to a midfielder who has been playing in the CB position for weeks.
Garcia at best is maybe, maybe a full back or a DM or a CM, Maybe an attacker, I don't know! But what I do know is this, he is not a CB!

The most concerning thing for me is the issues go way beyond our defensive frailty. At least we have some defensive personnel to come back.

Our attacking play today was atrocious and it isn't the first time, Lyon and many more were exactly the same. There were times in the second half where we had 4 or 5 players lined up on the shoulder of their back line with fullbacks just hitting crosses. It's basics and that quick vertical passing we once had has completely gone from our game. We look absolutely toothless at times and if a team shuts down KDB we can't create anything.

We need to evolve our tactics against these sides with packed defences or it is only going to get worse. We shouldn't be needing to sign Messi just to be able to win at home against fucking Leicester.

He plays Garcia because he was one of two match-fit centre backs. As mediocre Garcia has been none of our problems in the last 12 months stems from him. In fact, put John Stones in there today and the game is over before half-time.

The real problem is Pep seems burnt-out and void of ideas. Happened at Barca, would of happened at Bayern but he acted quickly. Add to that our player personnel is turning more and more average every week and we have a critical rot in need to be stopped

What made you choose that user name.

Would have rather he started with one of the two cm rather than take one off when did.

He needs to commit and then it's the long game. Up to Everton now to stop the horrible inhaler bastards. C'mon Arsenal tomorrow night.

You don’t get the feeling any more that Pep can change a game with his genius. I think he’s run his course at City and it’s fucking depressing. Love him, but there is little reaction from the players any more to his ideas. Or, his ideas are just stale.

Be careful what you wish for.

I'm not in the Pep out camp yet, but we have seen some terrible performances recently. Arsenal in the FA semi, Lyon in CL & today were all very poor. After Leicester went in front today the players & Pep never looked like they had the belief that they could get back in the game. To lose as many games as we did in the PL last season is almost unforgivable too. I think in any other top club his job would have been at serious risk after last season. There's too many people who seem too comfortable at the moment, both players & Pep in my opinion.

Things are difficult with injuries to key player & some out through positive Covid tests. He can only play what he has available, but he just doen't seem right to me at present. It's hard to know how much the death of his mother affected him, he may still be suffering after effects of that. Lyon was a real low point in his tenure for me, and after today things don't seem much better. We need to see how we are performing after the end of the window, when we hopefully have a full strength team. If we are out of the running before Christmas, then he needs to go IMO.

I also don’t understand why our current system relies on our fullbacks having the ball so often in advanced positions when they’re the worst footballers in our team. It’s either intentional or opposition coaches find it laughably easy to force us to play that way.

Let’s get back to playing our wingers high and wide and our fullbacks dropping into midfield and protecting passes down the channels.

I’m not wishing for him to go, I just feel his time at City is coming to its natural end. Not my wish but I think it’s happening.

And yes, we are in for many seasons of being off the pace after he leaves. But I also feel we’d be off the pace WITH him too. Just feels like we're going through the motions now.

You really think Stones would have done worse today?

Not his fault. If 2 players out of 11 are shite, then a stroke of genius can cover up the faults. But expecting genius tactics alone to cover up the limitations of 6 different players is madness. If that was even possible, teams would buy sunday league players, pay the coach 200 million and just the win the match on tactics alone. The players have to perform. It's not the tactics forcing Mendy to concede an awful pen. The game is played on the pitch, not on a whiteboard. Players get praised after great performances, they should take 95% of the blame after a loss too.

He needs to commit. It's his choice as the club love him. Uncertainty would be diminished. Nobody is perfect but it's up to him. No idea what he really feels but I am concerned his wife going back to Barcelona has tipped the scales. I think he loves City but family is family no matter what you do and earn.
