“It's a good point. We cannot forget this is Old Trafford, it is a tough opponent. They press, they are so fast up front..it's Man United!"

Is this the new “be grateful for what we have now as we used to play Lincoln City in Division Two”?

Looks like Pep decided during the coronavirus shutdown he will retire.

All actions since then seem to be having an approach of least risk attitude towards games.

He has fantastic record of titles, signed a contract extension for next few years and basically need to see it out.

There is enough talent to take the team to top four and out of the group in CL. If a Carabou Cup or FA Cup can be added then the season will be a huge success. With such tight schedule teams will not focus so much on Carabou or FA Cup so it might work out.

So two more years of maybe picking a Cup title and getting into top four.

I'm convinced Pep has serious doubts about the team's fitness levels. We just can't press any more and COVID and the short preseason play a big role in that. Every team's been affected but as our press is so important to the way we play it hurts us more.

He's never been in a position previously where he has a team that can't press for 90 minutes. I think he's just decided to ensure we're solid and push on from there.
Why doesn’t he use his subs though if he thinks fitness is such an issue? Not saying you’re wrong just find it baffling that he doesn’t make subs

Did he really say that ? this is Old Trafford ? you mean the place where Crystal Palace, Spurs and even bloody Arsenal won ? he really does sound like a complete idiot at times.

It's almost like he could maybe make some substitutions to manage fitness levels, and not run them ragged in pointless games.

If this is a real problem, it's one of Pep's making.
