He’s fucking done.

Thanks for everything.

Sack him

He's lost his head and it's reflected in the players

Won't get top 4 if he stays

i love pep, but yeah hes been really bad this season and a sack wouldnt be unfair, that is the reality

I think pep will go within the week

I hope the next manager is good. And soon.

But thanks Pep. You have been absolutely phenomenal for City. You deserve all the luck in the future.

If he doesn’t walk tonight he will when Villa beat us such a sad ending to a wonderful career at the club

Fook off this loyalty to old players or Fook off. Any new manager would drop half of these

Like some of the players he's run out of gas. It happens. Mourinho Lost it some time ago. Shankly did. Busby.

Or have won so much they don't care anymore.. they are just a happy flowers team! This is not on Pep..

Sell Foden. USELESS
Sell Nunes. USELESS
Sell Walker. USELESS
Sell Grealish. USELESS
Sell Stones. USELESS

Sell everyone but Dias, Bernardo, Bobb and Erling.. and reset and have Pep go again!

And if we need to fire someone.. I think sadly it needs to be Txiki.. get Viana in ASAP.

Should be nowhere near the rebuild since i think he will leave 2026.

Can you tell me what’s wrong with that post if mine ? I haven’t slagged the manager and I’ve also said we won’t sack him either but I do think he we go as he is struggling atm . If this was Utd Liverpool etc and they had our results what would be saying about their manager ?

You're right, I shouldn't have included yours.

I don't think he'll walk. He's publicly said he won't don't that.

I think if their managers had just won 4 in a row then we'd think it unlikely he would walk.

A couple of a additional players in Jan and then a summer transfer windows and we'll be back dominating again.

I really hope so mate as it hurts what is happening

A possible big worry is that from what I read, Arsenal are going through a similar thing to us but have been bailed out my scoring so many set pieces.

Their forums are full of complaints about slow build up and lack of chance creation from open play.

Is it time for Pep to do another reinvention as this game plan seems to have run it's course?

Oh we've been found out alright, but thankfully it took them all ages to do so, and 4 in a row later, but could he re invent, I mean playing out from the back they all do it in every league now.

I think that’s probably because they are copying us in some regards
Playing centre backs at full back and packing the midfield
Teams have got wise to it and if they set up well chance creation is very low

So you want us to become utter cunts in the mode of Arteta's twats ?

Where did you get that idea from?

My point is that Arsenal and us play a very similar style and are having very similar struggles so there is probably an overlapping reason why.

Liverpool and Chelsea don't appear to have these same problems so perhaps we should tweak our style to what appears to be effective currently.

We used to quickly transition and even side to side was with pace that opposition were knackered by half time. Now we are working so slowly that the opponent resets with no effort and it's our players who are moving into needless spaces while they just shuffle and block.
Sometimes it looks like a training exercise rather than a match and it's far harder to chase back these days without giving fouls away.
Age waits for no man and there lies the issue - the present style is the same but at walking football pace.

Sorry ES, my poor sense of humour, and forgot to put :) at the end.

I understand what you are getting at. We (because of Pep) reinvented the way most teams try to play - you can see it even at lower levels. The possession from the back ie giving a player the ball in tight spaces and looking for quick lay offs rather than just boot it forward was revolutionary and copied by all. To counter that coaches have come up with better defensive plans and press quicker as a unit. This puts players under more pressure which is why you often see so many teams who are not as skilled get caught out at the back. We have always carried this mantra further up the field - keep possession make triangles and wait for the opportunities to come - teams have sussed it and you now get average players like Hughes at Palace being able to break up our hesitant play easily.

Liverpool and Chelsea still do a bit of that but the difference is pace - they both quickly transition forward - you see with Palmer he often gets the ball deep and either gives a quick pass or drives forward into space. Both teams have pace to burn to give options. For us how many matches have players made forward runs to no avail - it must get them down a bit and we now find Erling and others don't make 50 runs per game. The lack of quick possession hurts us. Erling hasn't suddenly lost pace rather he is often on the back foot as Gundo, Lewis & others play rondos in the final third - not ideal.

I really don't want us to turn into an old fashioned boot it long team ever again, I still have scars from watching Stuart Pearce's team - fortunately that will never happen with the way Pep coaches etc. But I hope we find a new way of getting the best from our players. Savinho & Doku for me are the clearest examples of going backwards offensively wise. Savinho looks actually scared to lose possession and has changed the very instincts that made us want to bring him in.

I think it can all change with one astute signing - someone who has no fear driving forward like Kev did for our best years. I am hopeful Pep will come up with another strategy and stop relying on the same players to have most of the ball in build up - Walker, Lewis and Gundo being the slowest movers of the ball or in Walker's case delay, delay then whack it upfield out of play!

Well the great reputation is evaporating and being tarnished so he's surely got to think of this in the coming days. It's hard to regain once it's lost. I love the man but soon he could be in Alan Ball territory with regard to amount of losses totting up. Turning it around from here would be something incredible. The next 3-4 weeks are going to define whether he signs one or two players or gets a fully fit defensive back line.
Pep and Alan Ball in the same sentence. Jesus fucking Christ
