Who did you want him to pick - KDB and Kova?

We don't have physicality because the players are old. The players who made up the greatest English side ever.

The rebuild is in train. Give it 12 months, ffs.
I wanted him to address it in the summer like an elite manager should

Tbf, KdB and Kova would have been better than Bernie and Gundogan.

But that's just 1 of many things Pep could have done that would have been better.

What a load of complete and utter bollocks. If Ederson didn't lose his mind last week we'd have been right in that tie.
Yeah and if Madrid didn't miss their chances they would've finished the tie at the Etihad, they totally battered us home and away and his tactics were the main reason why.

If our shots that hit the bar went in we'd have scored 4. The first game was pretty even overall.

The players are old, this is the reason we're struggling, not his fucking tactics.

His tactics have kept him at the apex of the game for 15 fucking years. Fuck me.

There's no arguing with what Pep has done so far in his time here. That's banked and when he walks away from here there should be a statue of him, put him in the middle of Mercer and Allison, name a stand after him but honour him and his legacy.

However I think for now currently he would also be the first to admit the old adage that you're only as good as your last game and you cannot rest on your laurels. The positives for me are the club are going nowhere in the longer term, the Haaland signing, the new younger players coming have started quite well, a new hotel and a new stand all point to the club investing and wanting to be at the very top table, so it will come good again.

The negatives right now for me are persisting with the same formation over and over 3 games per week and conceding the same goals and making the same errors each week. I get Pep wants to play his system but surely without the players to work within that frame then just for now tighten it up, stop with the high line and have a plan B. I have found it concerning that the last 25 games or so excluding a handful, have by and large been a mirror image of the previous one before, and that's on Pep. It's not heresy to question Pep and without going into every minor detail you just have to look at some of the key parts of our play that we are lacking in. Our set pieces are woeful, our high line continually gets caught out, the lack of using subs and flogging players for 90mins and a continuous change of the starting 11 with or without injuries. We desperatley need a couple of enforcers, I long to see somebody stand up to the likes of Rudiger and others. The constant rotation of the ball, breaking only to stop at the halfway line to rotate and protect the back four whilst they regroup and the lack of pace all round, our game management this season are key fundamental problems within the squad. There are other minor issues in our game that stand out far more with the bigger issues mentioned above but I will leave it there.

Of course Pep should have the chance to address this next season and nobody is really suggesting otherwise but I'm genuinely concerned that so far he hasn't made too big an impact on improving the situation. For all the media like to tell us we've fallen off a cliff, we are still 4th and have an FA Cup to win. There's another 16 teams behind us that wouldn't mind being on the same cliff edge as us right now. We need a big push starting Sunday to finish the season on a high before winning the world cup and going again in August. Pep and the team need us now more than ever!

And the game has changed.

My gripe is leaving players on that might start against the dippers. The tie was over at 2-0. Would it have done any harm to make 2/3 changes at half time.
No point continuing with that XI as long as he did. I'd Imagine Gvardiol, Marmoush and Savinho are going to play Sunday, so why not spare them? Of the bench, maybe de Bruyne would be the only one who plays Sunday so why not give him a few minutes since he didn't play against Newcastle.

Then again, it's Pep, so who the fuck knows who's going to play Sunday.

The issues is if Pep did make the changes at half chances are the result would have been a lot worse than it turned out. That was near enough our full strength side.

Madrid created far better chances, Mbappe should've had another hattrick at the Etihad, they were better.

And you must be blind to think tactics wasn't a problem tonight, we looked utter shite all game and barely had any shots let alone chances.

And being on top for 15 years doesn't mean you will always be on top, he's been absolute crap this season and he needs to take a hard look at himself and change things to go back to the top, otherwise he will end up like Wenger and Mourinho who were also at the apex of the game for over a decade before declining.

In every press conference he said the plan was to keep the ball but we couldn't lol. He never acknowledges the lack of physicality as the reason we can't keep the ball (or win it back), it's why he keeps playing the passers even as they get cooked over and over and he's been really stubborn about the correlation even though its plain to see and the fewer of Kova/bernardo/gundo that play the better we are. Worst season of his career.

Who cares at that point? Loss was still a loss and elimination is still elimination.

He set us up like we were already winning by 4 ourselves or that he had no intention of actually going for it.
