He has lost his mojo. The players don't run, don't concentrate and don't seem to have any belief.

His decisions have been very poor this season.

The style of play has been poor for a long time. Started while we were still winning titles.

Our hunger and flair has gone.

I'd be happy for a replacement to come in and shake up things. But I've no idea which managers are any good.

In any case we support the club. Good players or not, good managers or not, good results or not.
don't know which managers are good but want to get rid of probably the greatest manager of all time because of one poor season that's a fast track way of ending just like united

Mourinho was once a guarantee if success. Now he is a busted flush.
We need to move on. Tonight was ridiculous
We couldn't lay a finger on them.

Pep will be an old man by the time Haalands contract ends. He didn't sign for Pep he signed for City, the best run club in the world.

The lack of effort and the continuous errors to me are a sign that the players are not motivated. They could be mentally exhausted, physically exhausted, without faith, without unity, confused etc. We can't tell for sure why but a manager on the up will address whatever it is so that the players individually and collectively will eventually perform near perfectly.

Maybe Pep is in the middle of successfully perfecting this. Who knows but we need our key players to hunger excellence again.

i'm sure he signed thinking pep will be here for at least 2 years not leave in the summer and yes i know pep won't be here for the whole time of his contract

name me another team now who have done what city have done recently of course there tired and mentally exhausted a drop off was always gonna happen but you have to give the club ans the manager the time to put it right no reactionary decisions like what we are seeing from city fans

Can you name a team that was amazingly successful with a top manager, then dipped dramatically as we have and then returned to be amazing again undef the same top manager?

Maybe there are loads of examples but I can't think of any. (Maybe Ferguson but his latter success was paper thin)

I have no idea who is a good manager to replace Pep now or in the future.

To an extent I don't care if he stays or goes. All I want is for my club to do the best that they can with the resources they have.

I think (but how can i know) that we did the best we could under Horton, Royle, Keegan, Pearce, Mancini and Pep until this season. We did less than our best imo under Clarke, Ball, Hughes and Pelligrini after his first season.

I hope you are right that this is just a one season blip. I'd be fine with that.

(PS. There is no City fan who doesn't have complete respect and appreciation for Pep, Gundogan, KDB, Bernardo, etc)

Klopp and Liverpool?

19/20 - 1st 99 points
20/21 - 3rd 69 points, losing 6 games in a row at one point.
21/22 - 2nd 92 points, CL final, won both cups

It can be done when the drop is due to injuries/physical decline and not because the players have lost faith in the manager.

Let's hope so.

With what has unfolded this season there is no manager in the world who could win the bigger prizes. At best a couple of domestic trophies (which we are still on target with winning the FA Cup). If the players were fully fit and we were still churning out the same performances then by all means move him on. There are no quick fixes.

have the club made mistakes absolutely did they get to complacent yes but they realised that in january and bought 4 players not just now but for the future we have to give them chance in the summer to rectify it if it's still the same then yes the uncomfortable conversation will have to be had but we can't be reactionary otherwise we end up like united

my thought process both pep and the board are at fault for the summer window trying to put it right in january which is a step in the right direction see what the summer brings

He has earned his chance for another crack with a fresher set of players and if anything it gives wriggle room in finding his successor with a new DoF
If he has the energy to go again I hope he signs another extension to send a message to everyone.
If not, seeing out his contract is likely best as you note as bringing even the best manager in at the wrong time could make for a disastrous start. But I trust the board and Pep to get it right.

It’s all down to pep! He wanted a small squad! He wanted no new players!
and if you listen to him now he realises that was a mistake at the time in the summer when he said that he wasn't sure about staying so you could argue the board should of stepped in but they wouldn't want to sign anyone pep wouldn't want in case he does decide to stay

So his first comment is we couldn't cope with their physicality, yet starts Gundo and Silva.

And who should he start?

Rodri? ACL
Kova? - WORST PLAYER ON THE SQUAD - COMPLETE TURNOVER MACHINE
Grealish? Injured
KDB? Last game.. even on 10 days rest he was tired after 20 minutes
Nunes? Turnover prone in the middle

So who does he start??
McAtee?

Genuinely curious as to what your answer is..

I seriously can't be the only one who thinks your question doesn't make sense.. but maybe what really doesn't make sense is we didn't recruit midfielders that could actually fit our system. Kalvin. Kova. Nunes.

That's where the ball was dropped and it's evident when you see our performances vs actual top midfields like PSG and Real Madrid.. They played us off the park.

It's not a fluke or one bad game anymore.. it just shows this is who we are!

It's a bit like watching your family suddenly get old and you don't understand what happened.. except it's seeing the team get old.

Maybe Pep understands it now but he's not going to be able to turn back time. A new cycle of players is needed and we need to bed in a midfield that will be able to compete because these current guys are either running on fumes or just not good enough!

Pep has gotten all he could out of them and they've given Pep and City all they could!

We need FOUR MIDFIELDERS in to phase out KDB, Gundo, Kova and Silva.
