Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

He can't stop Pickford continuously hoofing it 80 yards to Barry who contests the first ball and then if it runs free to Ndiaye or Dewsbury-Hall they're right at us with no Rodri there to stifle the attacks.
Both central defenders were rattled physically in the game, something we saw at Burnley, too. It’s no coincidence. Teams recognise that without Rodri around they can leave a bit on and it’ll probably go unpunished. Guardiola has Ake and Stones on the bench yet chose neither even when it was apparent others were losing their heads.
Once more we never used the full complement of substitutes.

Because you based your comment on my post count.... So I showed that we were fucking winners even before Pep ....and now your accusing me of being drunk yeah? Do you even go to games ??? Probably not. Fucking loser
Again, us being winners before Pep has nothing to do with assessing whether Pep is a manager capable of changing games when we're on the back foot. Pep has changed games when we're on the back foot countless times.

You can carry on rambling incoherently until tomorrow morning but you'll still be talking out your arse. You're typing utter shite because you're about four beers deep and upset that City have lost a game. Sleep it off.

Pep is responsible for recruitment ( I know its a team, but for sure he have the last call or veto right )

Line up & subs

I feel recently he is struggling on all fronts.

Praised him last week for making subs early, noting it isn't a common occurrence for him. We needed it against Everton too but didn't get it. They were building momentum, semenyo and cherki were useless, changes should have been made before we are chasing the game again and instead he waits for the inevitable first.

Not sure what he said to them at half time but whatever it was, was a calamity. Again.
It's obvious. Don't go forward. Slow it way down. And fuck about in our own end. Is it really all that difficult to see? Hard to digest, but it is what it is. A shit team like that deciding to go for it should be eating 3 or 4 more. Instead we're in a race between the clock running out and us fucking up the game...

When was the last time Pep ever used 5 subs in a Premier League game ?
2nd half saw Everton get more of the ball and playing more offensively.
Too few changes, too late...

When were on the back foot he is a poor manager ( there Ive said it) I don't want it to be true but it is....he doesn't know how to change a game .
Literally in the most recent two games we have come back from two goals down to draw and from one goal down to win.

I think now even though I said it in post match for Everton thread that Pep may stay now to make sure he wins the league next season

Maybe ????

At times unplayable with odd moments of totally lunacy, Dokus goals were worldies, never change Pep, City

Im really enjoying this season and hope a Bernardo, Stones inspired cup final helps ease the irritation of seeing a bland but consistent Arsenal cross over a finish line theyve been hovering round like Mr Bean on a first date.

One more year Pep, one more year.

I hope this defeat leaves him ready to go again next season with a more capable squad.

Biggest issue remain the brain(Rodri). We can’t function to a top level without the player. Needs to find a new way forward. The whole cake crumbles without him.

Fit Rodri all season and the league is won. Only my opinion.

Going off his press conference before the Everton he doesn't look ready to leave just yet.

There’s only so much even Pep can do, can’t really fault him for the result. MAYBE he should have made a sub when we were getting overran. Packed the midfield and got rid of one of our attackers.

But it’s down to the players to have some metal in high pressure games like that and the defence (bar Luigi) did that

Wasn't the issue tonight. Could have brought on earlier subs but could have easily made the situation a lot worse than it was. We were the dominant side and it was down to individual error (and generous match officials) that gave Everton their way back in the game

Defeat?

We drew.

That period after half time was punctuated by an inability to string multiple passes together and the front 4 couldn't make anything stick. Frustrating that subs weren't made at that point, when it was evident we weren't playing well enough in any aspect.

Problem is that all of the attacking substitutes are just as likely to give the ball away, too. It was possession football without purpose, and we’ve seen enough of that over the years to know it can make us vulnerable.

Kovacic was the only experienced head for midfield but if Ake and Stones, in particular, are just legacy inclusions to give a semblance of strength, it’s a concern.
