Pep Guardiola | LMA Manager of the Year

He'll get all the credit in the world when he has left.
Exactly!

Before he came here he was a regarded as the best coach in the world. The rags wanted him, Fergie was begging him to go there.

But he signs for us and then all of a sudden he's treated like a pariah with sly digs of "his style will never work in the Premier" "he'll be gone after 3 years" etc, all the jealous fuckers laughing after the first season.

Now 5 years later we've won the title 3 in 4 seasons, broken points records and won the domestic treble, won domestic cups, got to a CL final, yet there's still no real acclaim, there's always an excuse as to why we won and of the course the standard nugget that the success is only down to money.

Pep is a smart man and realised early on that the media coverage was skewed against us but he stood tall and i honestly think he wants to make us a powerhouse and give a massive fuck you to all the haters.

I absolutely love the guy, he's the best coach in the world by an absolute mile and i hope we can keep him for many, many more years!

Pep doesn't crave recognition , his record speaks volumes and what he has achieved in football is incredible, he got slated in every single media outlet back in 2016 for getting rid of Joe Hart within 12 months later the same outlets were trying to convince everyone Joe had become a bad keeper overnight, Wenger changed English football in the 90's with the nutrition and diet side of it and 20 years later Pep has revolutionised it with the way he wants his keeper to play and his whole philosophy and suddenly every team in the land wants to play Peps way, but i agree with Pep deserving more credit than he gets the same way Centurions & Fourmidables teams deserve more credit than they ever got, end of the day we get Pep and Pep gets City.

Deserves huge credit....the best manager of all time.. it's not just about the trophies but it's for me how he has single handedly changed how teams in England play....when he came in and his defenders and GK started playing out from the back, the media, pundits etc said he was mad etc. Now fast forward 5 yes and everyone is trying to do it...fossils like allerdice etc have finally been resigned to where they belong ..even kids on the park on Sunday mornings are trying to play this way....ALL down to Pep...

People can talk about Ferguson's, shankly Wenger etc and yes they were good managers but NONE of them influenced the game like that and certainly not in such a short period of time

Does anyone have an overview of City's transferdealings in the Pep era? I think this era more or less matches the time where City became self sustaining financially, following the period of accelerated investment forced upon us by FFP. So how many players have we actually bought and sold, and how much money have we actually spent? My guess is we didn't out spend the other top clubs.
Ballague has pointed out City’s most used 11 this season cost less than Utd’s most used 11.

The same with both Kompany, Silva and Aguero. They will probably get the credit when they leave City.

In fairness Robbie Savage did say Pep was the best manager English football had seen.

As long as he's a City he will get fuck all from our sports media fanzine writing red supporting cunts.

The moment his replacement arrives they will all of a sudden have them on a hiding to nothing. Everything will be how they are a downgrade etc.

Even playing 4 4 fucking 2 the other day didn’t bring any credit. He just can’t win ;)
