The right man for the job long term, awesome manager IMO!

Danny mate, anyone with Messi couldn't be shit at managing...Give him a team like Bolton with no budget and see how he gets on.

I see what you mean; the general point of the strength of Barcelona, however, you only have to look at Maradona and his mismanagement of Argentina to see that isn't true.

Yeah thats a good point, But i feel even I could do a half decent job with the funds, support and the team he got given him.

Yeah he has a sweet job in reality.

Even tough many of the same players remain in the Barca squad from Rijkaard's days (and they won La Liga and the CL under him), Barca now play a completely different style of footy under Pep! They hunt the ball down off the oppo' more than any football team i've ever seen, the move around relentlessly to make space for themselves to be passed the ball in like no team i've ever seen, and they attack like no team i've ever seen; they are extremely well coached by Pep!

This Barca team - well actually last seasons with Eto'o Henry and Messi up front - are the best team i have EVER seen! So i'm glad Pep has signed on with them for a further 6 seasons as i will be pleased to watch this beautiful football (not this terrible gamesmanship bollocks that Morinho's teams play!) of Barca in their great kit and amazing stadium!

Then in 2019 when he's had 10 years with Barca - after a 3 year extension to what he has now - and when he needs a fresh challenge he can definately come to the CoMS and bring this amazing style of football to City!
(come on Pep - keep us in mind!, you can Barca after 10 years with City and retire there!!!!_)

The season before he joined (and they had Messi, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta etc), they finished 3rd with 67 points and 76 goals, winning nothing

His first season in the job, they finished first with 105 goals and 87 points, winning 6 trophies - every competition they entered

He is an amazing manager.

Do people* not realise that virtually the same squad plus Ronaldinho (twice World Player of the Year) and Deco had not won La Liga for the past two seasons! Guardiola came in and achieved the impossible (no Spanish club have ever won the treble of La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Cup). In all he guided them to 6 tophies (again an unparalleled achievement), winning every competition they entered. What makes the feat all the more remarkable is the fact that this was Guardiola’s debut season in first team management. He is the youngest ever manager to win the Champions League and is a part of a breed of manager we have not seem for some time. He is cut from the same cloth as the great Rinus Michels and Johan Cruyff, schooled in the art of total football under the latter, Guardiola has breathed new life into the Catalan giant. His planning is meticulous, his attention to detail unequalled, his passion unrivalled. An ex-Barcelona great famously said, ‘there is an old myth, that you cannot win by playing beautiful football,’ Guardiola has well and truly put that myth to bed.

And whilst I agree with everything stated above, I don't think it is wrong to state that his management style would not suit a team like Bolton, as was pointed out previously by another poster.
