Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Pep has said the're is no better club or league he would rather work than where he is right now. He acknowledged that he has everything he could possibly want at City plus intrusion into his private life is much better in the UK, being able to walk the streets without being mobbed plus the press tend to leave him alone.

With that you would expect that a new contract is a formality but the timing is uncertain.

I think we can safely say Pep will be here a few years yet.

I really hope you're right mate. The likelihood of us finding a better manager in our lifetime is almost nonexistent.

My belief? If he wins us the CL next season he'll leave. Contrary to what people may be professing publically, I think that is now Pep's and the club's holy grail. Win it, and its mission complete for him.

My desire? For him to stay another decade. He could build an unprecedented dynasty in English football.

Wasn’t he supposed to have said, a few weeks back, that he would decide his future at the end of his contract (next summer)?

this would have been discussed with the Haaland move as im sure Haaland wants to know the situation with who's he playng for, 3+ year extension incoming i think

Pep has already said he will not sign a new deal this summer and will need to see how the players react to him next season before committing.

I expect when the World Cup is on he will sign then seems a very obvious time

I would expect this too. Pep has been saying the right things about being happy here, and he doesn't really even need to say it, it is obvious.

But he is very standoffish when it is brought up, particularly recently. I thought it was to avoid distraction till the league was won, but asked on it after he still was careful not to get drawn in.

I think it will be well into next season before we het anything.

Part of me also thinks, he wants to do it after the summer transfer window. He keeps saying the players arrive here to be at the club, not for him, and he may well want to really make a point of that.

I read that in the press but not sure if that was quoted from an interview. Whether its this or next summer i would expect Pep to sign the new deal.
Maybe we'll get an indication from Khaldoon in his interview.
