Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

How long should we give him then in your opinion? 9mths, 12 mths? The transformation of the squad and the way we will play isn't going to happen overnight with only 1 transfer window to implement it. He and it needs time.

There have been signs that his ideas are absolutely fine, in the games i've listed we were fantastic, we were also great against Everton, Saints and 'Boro at home but indivdual errors cost us 6 points in total errors also cost us 3 v Chelsea.
Also to compare him with Conte isn't on, he's got a side that won the title 20 months ago that massively under performed because of Mourinho and he's got them back to their best.

Once we've had the next summer transfer window we'll see a much improved, younger and faster squad for him to implement his ideas.

The end of the season is a good time to call it.

Simeone will be available if we decide to move to a manager with both feet on the ground, no philosophy and a winning mentality.

The comparison with Conte is valid.

If Pep gets it right it'll be great. If he doesn't, no problem, we get 'Project Barcelona' out of our system and move on.

Anyone who thinks the current first team situation is acceptable is wrong.

Anyone who thinks the future is bright just because we've got Pep is wrong.

Come on Pep. Come on City.

Great isn't quite the word I would use to describe the performances against Everton , Saints and Boro in fairness.

We won the first six playing some good football without dominating like Liverpool v Watford for example and Chelsea v a number of mid table teams they have wiped the floor with this season.

Since then apart from some spurts its been a downhill spiral and 7-3-5 with some shockers in that lot tells us where the squad is currently as has been the case for over 3 years now.

With the poor window over the summer addressing none of our issues its nailed on we will finish further behind the winners of the premiership this year than last and most likely outside the top four Pep or no Pep.

To date despite his many mistakes he has done about as well as the objective would expect.

5/6th is about where you would expect the club to finish.

Pep suffers his worst league defeat.

Guadiola and the future thread dissappear's.

Pep to sign an extension to his contract thread.

Aye great times!

Sounds like a load of propaganda.

The mega thread Guardiola and the future didn't disappear, it was moved for technical reasons as far too many signed in yesterday to throw a hissy fit and toys from the pram and the server couldn't take the strain.

Would be nice for once to get a similar problem after a great victory of which we have had a few this season.

No propaganda, just facts.

Are we getting a player revolution too?

Brilliant news and a sweet fuck you to all the jurnos/pundit/jealous wankers willing him to fail.

Couldn't/wouldn't have one without the other. Would think/hope his summer buys will be much more on the mark with a full year of prem under his belt. Not to say bonucci, Laporte would not have succeeded but they had as much experience as Pep in England at the time. Summer recruitment should be more precise this window I would guess.

Great news to hear Tolmie....as some have said on here along with myself, this season was going to have its ups and downs and it was not going to be plain sailing. I believe that the first 10 games when we were unbeaten actually clouded a lot of people's minds into believing we would stroll the league.

And in all honesty I believe Pep thought he would be inheriting a better group of players than what he got (the defensive side of the squad) - and this is where he has been sold short so far. It will take time and wasn't going to happen over 12months let alone 6 months. We as the fans, and the club as a whole have got their man, the one we and they wanted in charge, it is time for the club to sit up and now rectify what is fundamentally wrong with the first team and back him to the max.
