Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I know tempers are running high. Pep needs to set the expectations right and we have to look at positives. We lost the title by 20 odd points last season. This season we will be closer than that to title holders.
Pep is the best coach is the world - no one can dispute that. One day hopefully we will be able to contend for title.
Maybe however this season is clearly where we have the biggest chance to finish in our lowest position since the Hughes " era".

We are in steady decline and maybe a massive clean out from top to bottom is what is needed to set us back on the path to our next title.

We are in full decline and it must be stopped quickly.

We lack passion, aggression, pace and enthusiasm.

We need 4-5 high class young hungry players into our starting 11, I fear if we do sign a 34 yr old little Agrentinian our problems will only get worse.

I hope Tikxi is not planning on much of a Christmas break.

No manager in the world could turn Sterling, Mahrez and Jesus into a goalscoring threat.
What would a new manager do?

He would make us more of a attacking threat.

How would he do that?

He will create tactics that will give our forwards good chances to score.

Oh wait....

Agreed and our finishing is as poor as it has been in many a year.

Fully established internationals playing like rank amateurs in truth.

We need to overhaul our recruiting as well because its clearly well below the standard required.

In reality sides like Southampton , Leicester , Aston Villa and Everton are getting far better value for money.

I wont need to go back ‘decades’ to find a worse defence but merely EVERY Premier League defence in the past 8 years won by sides other than City.

United 2013 won the league with 89 points the following season finished 7th with 64 points

Chelsea won the league in 2015 with 87 points the following season finished 10th with 50 points

Leicester won the league in 2016 with 81 points the following season finished 12th with 44 points

Chelsea won the league in 2017 with 93 points the following season finished 5th with 70 points.

Actually Pep has made the best title defence of the last decade, by being the only side to retain the title in 2019 and last year we finished 2nd a better achievement than any other club since 2010. Like I said nothing wrong with having an opinion but when things are being written which are blatantly not true, it just looks like an attempt to discredit the bloke.
Refreshing to come across this post whilst catching up on this thread

There definitely seems to be a campaign getting underway against Pep

Long-standing City fans will remember the years of manager merry go-rounds - people should be careful what they wish for

Still firmly of the belief that pep needs a good foil. Someone to second guess his set ups and tactics and offer different options...last night typical example of this, double pivot slowing our game right down, plus we played all our football in front of them....subs too late when they came but no change in tactics as such, maybe more width with walker...
