I wonder if announcing he's "only" extending to 2025 is designed to worry their owners? We'll both be looking at the same replacements eventually, but we'll have the extra year to get the jump on them. They don’t seem to understand how financial fair play works and you can’t simply pump money into a club as their owners lobbied for it as a condition of buying the club. They also seem to conveniently forget they were banned from Europe for breaking financial fair play but didn’t qualify at the time.
