City have just scored the 1st goal. Pep is giving instructions to Cancelo, Dias, and Walker

I think we've got Pep for many more years to come. City is the perfect club for him, years of preparation were laid down for his appointment and he knows that, nowhere else comes close. Unless something weird happens in his life I'm sure he'll renew his contract. Any other club would be a step down to what he's got here.

Pep has coached every club in England. You can see it as grassroots level, teams playing out from the back, pressing (so the first needs to be accurate to overcome the second), not being bothered about passing back in order to keep the ball. That said, I think compared to his first couple of years, players often don't turn to face goal when they're not under pressure. There was a German commentary (posted here) about how the weight/speed of pass told the recipient whether to control and turn or play it back. I think we have lost that a bit, and even in that game on Saturday there were a couple of times when I was shouting "No, turn" (to face goal). Or maybe it was just Sergio that was so good at that!
